Bradster has caved to his smack addiction-like dependence on WoW and created 36 separate accounts

abbreviation is pronounced by spelling out the letters W-O-W or if you just saw "wow." It seems
like the kind of thing where you have to know the different between an elf and an orc, and I gotta
be honest, I just don't care. But this is so over-the-top that I'm almost interested in finding the
one true ring or banging lady-dwarves or whatever you do in that game. Bradster's setup features a
whopping seven separate laptops, four desktops hidden away under the desk, and an array of screens
that's disorienting even in a static image. He might be the only person on earth who's capable of

height="361" /Are you in a relationship? Can you hardly bear to be apart from your partner for more
than half an hour? Do you make out in the library while sitting next to a Gizmodo writer, totally
unaware that someday he'll grumpily complain about you in a post? Well, I have the perfect mp3
player for you and your equally annoying significant other. The Twinned MP3 Player concept is
actually two mp3 players, capable of holding only one playlist each: the same one. When combined,
in that adorable spooning position, you can plug 'em into the computer to load your songs, but when
separated, they can only play back the tunes you and your partner have chosen together. Just the
one playlist. Forever. At least it's easier to throw away than a matching tattoo. It's definitely
just a concept for now, with no mention of basics like how you control the thing, let alone price
or release date. [a

height="150" style="display:block;float:none;" /Evil monolith Apple has a
href="http://www.apple.com/retail/fieldtrip/"begun a nefarious program/a to snatch children from
the warm arms of their home PCs with ominous-sounding "field trips." These trips do lead to a
field, but not one with grass and trees and sunshine. This is a field of glass, of white plastic,
of aluminum, and of shameful minimalism./p pSure, Apple has its shiny white coating of education.
The (apparently free) one-hour trip can accommodate up to 25 impressionable youngsters. "Let the
children create projects using easy-to-understand software like iMovie and iPhoto!" the site
exclaims. "Or they can bring in a project they've already created and turn our store into a
theater," the site explains. "Free t-shirts!" furthers the site. Well, Apple, let me tell you this.
I will not "bring my enthusiasm," and I will not let you "bring the rest." Children should frolic
in parks, not museum-like electronics shops. The t-shirts do look sort of sweet, though. [a

width="494" height="370" style="display:block;float:none;" /Thanks to about a million tips, I've
been forced to sit through the new Britney Spears music video for "Womanizer" because the flashy
Nokia 5800 XpressMusic 'Tube' makes an appearance. The phone is used to take a picture of a
ridiculously be-wigged Britney before she violently attacks the photographer and slams his face
into a photocopier, sending the poor phone flying. But that's not the end of the technology in the
video!/p pobject width="494" height="399"param name="movie"

allowfullscreen="true" width="494" height="399"/objectI won't get into any depth on the song,
because this is Gizmodo and when a song only has two words and both of them are "womanizer," it's
tough to glean any gadget connection. But the Nokia first makes an appearance at breakfast, when
Britney's antagonist checks his calendar to see what kind of womanizing he'll get up to today. img

width="494" height="370" style="display:block;float:none;" /br It's pretty obvious product
placement when the words "Nokia" glimmer for no reason, but I was too distracted by what he was

width="494" height="369" style="display:block;float:none;" /br Okay, a square egg is easy, you can
just cut the white into whatever shape you want. But the YOLK is square too! Britney should stop
singing and open a restaurant, because that's goddamn amazing. Luckily, all this happens in the
first minute so you don't need to sit through the awful inane screeching for too long. [- emThanks,

who went on record in an interview with a
href="http://reviews.cnet.co.uk/natelanxon/0,139102300,49299275,00.htm"CNET UK/a as saying that he
has direct sources telling him Apple is developing a networked LCD HDTV that will have built-in
Apple TV capabilities. Immediately, this brought up a smattering of conflicting ideas and opinions
from a few of us at Giz as to whether or not this makes sense. And if it does happen, we almost
certainly won't see it on Tuesday. Ultimately, we're still undecided one way or the other, but
here's what we think on the matter./p pRight off the bat, it doesn't really make sense why Apply
would enter TV market with an Apple-branded LCD. The market is as cutthroat as ever with companies
eating costs and gouging prices. Most of the big PC names (Dell, Gateway, etc...) are getting out,
leaving obscure Chinese manufacturers to hash it out. Sure, Apple makes their Cinema Display, but
those are strictly for the computer market and aren't any bigger than 30". So while they're not LCD
n00bs, they're still green to the TV market./p pYou can also use the cheapness wars to highlight
the best selling TVs are the ones which only offer video, speakers and a sufficient number of
inputs mdash; leaving the rest to the consumer. But at the same time, all these manufacturers are
bottoming out with their prices, and will soon need to distinguish their product from the rest with
special features./p pStorage is also an issue. The Apple TV relies on a 40 GB HDD to bring content
to the living room. Putting a spinner inside a TV is something manufacturers are adverse to,
probably because of drive failure, noise, and heat concerns. It's entirely possible they could
stick a 64 GB SSD in the TV and call it a day, but that still adds a couple hundred extra dollars
to the price./p pThere are also reasons why this rumor might have some validity to it, the most
obvious of which is Jason Calacanis' standing in Silicon Valley. Unless he's pulling a stunt to get
his own fledgling projects some attention, you have to believe the internet tech entrepreneur rubs
elbows with some people who actually know what they're talking about. a

Rose/a has proven to have some great insider information in the past, so there's no reason to think
that Calacanis wouldn't./p pLooking at other companies, networked TVs and internet-based content

think Apple needs to make some moves to keep their ala carte model of distribution relevant./p pAnd
this brings about the final point, which is purely speculation mdash; what if Apple doesn't build a
TV at all, but rather lends their Apple TV software to a big name TV maker? Instead of an "Apple

eliminate the financial risk of RD, marketing and manufacturing costs of what could be a potential
flop in an already oversaturated market. Second, they don't need to move the hardware to make
money. They just need people buying things from the iTunes Store. Lending their interface to an

width="494" height="607" style="display:block;float:none;" /Seagate has decided to enter the
solid-state disk (SSD) market in 2009, starting the company's switch from hard disk drives (HDD).
Their first target: corporate America. Once they've got the cubicle commanders, they'll move to
consumers. Seagate senior manager Rich Vignes seems to be awfully defensive about this incredibly
obvious move, stating over and over that they'll take it slow, that analysts really do think SSDs
are reliable, and that this is the wave of the future. Of course, if you're reading Giz, chances
are your response to the announcement is "Duh." But Seagate stepping into the SSD ring means we're
one step closer to an HDD-free existence. [a

height="280" style="display:block;float:none;" /CNN reports that General Electric has created a
giant OLED panel printer to be specifically used for lighting. The "semi-trailer" sized machine
prints out thin layers of flexible plastic, covers them with chemicals, and seals them with foil,
so they'll glow a frosty blue-white if an electrical current is applied. But these OLED sheets
aren't exactly lightbulb substitutes./p pOur current incandescent and a
href="http://gizmodo.com/5061088/question-of-the-day-have-you-made-the-switch-to-cfls"CFL/a bulbs
are super bright and super small, which is why we have to artfully cover them with lampshades or,
in my case, a purple silk scarf, because I know what the ladies like. These new OLEDs are
substantially dimmer, so they'd be used in large panels to create a softer light. Imagine a
windowshade of the new lights, so when lowered at night, light still seems to be filtering in from
outside. Or hell, just wallpaper your bedroom in the stuff, since no fixture is required. The
caveats: they do, of course, still need a power source, their lifespan isn't up to par, and they're
incredibly expensive right now. GE hopes to get the kinks worked out and the panels into production
by 2010. [a href="http://www.cnn.com/2008/TECH/10/10/sheets.of.light.oleds.ap/index.html"CNN/a]/p

align="left" hspace="4" vspace="2" width="546" height="344" style="display:block;float:none;" /Yep,
Dell, purveyors of computers and such, currently have the best price on a really decent Sharp
Aquos, the 42" LC-42SB45U with 1080p resolution. It's $899, and shipping is free, though you will
have to pay sales tax. By contrast, Amazon's starting price on this model is $972, and the shopping
sites tend to list it anywhere from $1,000 to $1,300. We haven't reviewed this particular model,
but we like Sharp. If you're in the market for a decent LCDmdash;and are among the unique few in
this country with some ready cashmdash;I say have at it. The deal disapparates on Monday. [a
