I hacked up a maemo gtk frontend for libanki with (until now) the same functionality as ankimini.
It's partly hildonized, and it is called ankimaemi. All is working, except images (which I am not
sure whether they work in ankimini either) :) and it is a lot snappier than ankimini. For now it is
using gtkhtml2 for rendering the cards' contents. It uses the same ~/.ankimini-config.py config
file as the original ankimini. Packages for OS2008 are available here:
https://garage.maemo.org/projects/anki python-gtkhtml2 can be found in extras-devel repo. The
source (in pypackager layout) can be found here: git://github.com/sanchi/ankimaemi.git

Patch your Vagalume to be the first Last.fm client in the world to have support for lyrics with
liblyrics :) Take either of the patches from "liblyrics 0.2.0 patch for Vagalume 0.7-2 (svn
revision 451)" release (https://garage.maemo.org/frs/?group_id=734), apply it to your Vagalume
source tree and build it, and install both liblyrics and liblyrics-ui (version 0.2.0). See more
information from the release page (https://garage.maemo.org/frs/shownotes.php?release_id=2330) and
my Last.fm journal post

New version of Fuelpad has been released. This update adds many features to the user interface, for
example information frames have been replaced with information toolbars, records can be edited by
double-clicking, the displayed columns can be chosen and the font size in the main table can be
chosen. Some more monthly statistics analyses are available and help for almost all the features
has been added. Help is now also available in Finnish. If you upgrade from version 0.60 or below,
you must first install libgtkextra-x11-2.0 (available in the garage page
https://garage.maemo.org/frs/?group_id=554&release_id=2249), which replaces the old gtkextra2
package, which can be removed after installing the new package. If you have installed gtkextra2
with the red pill mode, you have to uninstall it also with red pill mode. The new version is also
available in extras-devel repository and if you install or upgrage from the repository, you don't
have to manually install libgtkextra-x11-2.0. Remember to disable extras-devel.

Finally the first usable version is out! To use liblyrics you need to install both library and UI.
You can get them from the "Files" section (https://garage.maemo.org/frs/?group_id=734). For usage
issue command "liblyrics-ui --help" from command line, when packages are installed. This release
contains support for one lyrics site and fetching lyrics synchronously from there. See release
notes for more information.

If you are about to open a new garage project then you are more than welcome to join the camp of
the "garage git true testers"! The git repository will be available a few minutes after your
project has been approved by the garage admins. What you will get is a "push repo", ie. you will be
able to clone it and then push your changes in it. Rule no. 1: only the project members are allowed
to commit. Rule no. 2: if you disable anonymous SCM access on the SCM Admin page, then no one else,
but the project members will be able to interact with the repo, meaning that only they can clone
and push it. I am still testing the plugin, so please be patient and drop me an email if you come
across some bugs, unwanted features etc. Advice: if you have problems with the initial git clone,
then please set the GIT_SSL_NO_VERIFY environment variable to 1. I would appreciate all your
feedback. Thanks in advance.

0.3.2: - UPDATED: Global code review. - UPDATED: Items (battery status, active/idle time left,
device mode) autoupdate. - UPDATED: No .ani in theme, only PNG images now. - UPDATED: Default theme
graphics update. - UPDATED: Application icons changed. - FIXED: Some translation issues. - ADDED:
Swap info. - ADDED: Buttons pressing emulation (Home key, Home key long) Most of the changes are
about future development and cross project using. In next release (or a bit later) Advanced Power
gonna split in 2 packages. First package is python monitoring system and notifying stuff via dbus.
Perhaps, it's gonna be accompanied with a daemon. Second package is the GUI part for interacting
with it (well-known statusbar applet). So, for those asking to use it in other apps it is now quite
simple to do it, just GUI writing (or modifying present) left.

Just committed the project source code to the SVN. Anonymous users, feel free to svn checkout
https://garage.maemo.org/svn/pit The programs can be run without installation. Instructions for the
quick start with the source tree: 0. Check that you have python-aspects and python-ruis libraries
installed in your system. If not, you can obtain them from here: http://www.cs.tut.fi/~ask/aspects/
http://www.cs.tut.fi/~ask/ruis/ 1. Start the debugger daemon on the computer/device where you wish
to run the debugged application: pitd/bin/pitd 2. Start the user interface on the computer/device
which you wish to use for debugging. It may be the same device, but especially with mobile devices,
it might be more convenient to use desktop/laptop/another internet tablet to run the GUI:
pitgui/bin/pitgui 3. Use pit to launch the Python application which you wish to debug. Do this on
the same computer/device on which the pitd is running. For example, pitd/bin/pit /usr/bin/tetris

while you drag or zoom the map. Furthermore you can conveniently pre-cache areas with tangoGPS.
Just download your place from OpenStreet map and go! Its easy. In this version: - Stretch map

Support for playlist generators and fix for playing SuperMarioWorldFlash.swf. KMPlayer couldn't
stay behind in having a way for third parties to extend retrieval of media sources. Of course their
was already a way to install extra playlists, like the very nice WorldTV list contributed by
bunanson. This however only enables static lists. Now, external programs can be called from
KMPlayer to generate content on the fly. Read more about here
http://kmplayer.garage.maemo.org/generators.html how to register them. A Youtube keyword, a local
media files and a Shoutcast genres searcher are included in this release. Changes: * Fix a crash in
flash support, found with SuperMarioWorldFlash.swf * Suggest filename of enclosure link when saving
a podcast, saving it w/o the mp3 extension confuses MPlayer * Add support for playlist generators,
start with a youtube query generator * Add media finder generator * Add simple Shoutcast.com genre
generator * playlist.xml and recent.xml are now stored in $HOME/.kmplayer/

Fuelpad 0.61 is now in extras-devel (or in fact, has been there for quite a while now) and also in
garage download page. This release adds help for many of the features, but does not have any new
functionalities or even bug fixes. The primary target was to update the package creation to work
with the autobuilder. The most important change in packaging is that the required gtkextra package
has been renamed to the same as in debian (libgtkextra-x11-2.0). If you install from the garage
download page, you will first need to install libgtkextra-x11-2.0. This package replaces the old
gtkextra2 package, which can be removed after installing the new package. If you have installed
gtkextra2 with the red pill mode, you have to uninstall it also with red pill mode. If you install
from extras-devel, libgtkextra-x11-2.0 is automatically installed, but gtkextra2 is not removed.
You can uninstall it manually after fuelpad has been updated. Remember to disable extras-devel.

This is the first public release of a theme I'm working on for Maemo and Mer. I was asked to do
something similar to echo and for Maemo and that is what this started off as then I went in a new
direction with it. Still have a few things to work on then I'm going to try to get it in extras.
Please report any problems you find.

There have been some problems with version 0.2-1 in Maemo Extras, especially with the bookmark
function in Pause mode. Some users also reported that resuming was not reliable and sometimes,
Panucci would not resume, but start from the beginning. The new package, available in Maemo Extras
for Chinook and Diablo, now fixes these problems. It is recommended to update to this latest
version.

Maemo SDK+ team is happy to announce our Release Candidate 1 (RC1). This RC-1 release has better
support for debugging with gdb and valgrind tools. We have also made several improvements mostly to
the maemo-sdk tool and Scratchbox-2 core components and also fixed a number of issues that were in
the previous release. In this release we also provide a separate easy-to-use installer script that
installs the whole SDK+ environment with minimal hassle. For first time users we recommend to use
this installer over manual installation. The installer conveniently installs the required
toolchains, rootstraps, Etch-tools and other SDK+ components that previously might have required a
manual installation or other additional steps to get a working SDK+ environment fully configured.
RC-1 is available for Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex 8.10, Ubuntu Hardy Heron 8.04, Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon 7.10
and also for Debian Lenny, Debian Etch/i386 GNU/Linux distributions. The core components and their
version are: maemo-sdk 0.9.99.3, Scratchbox2 1.99.00.27-lta57, Q-EMU 0.9.1-6 (This is the "SB2"
version with patches), Libtool 1.5.26-2, sbrsh 7.6 and Anjuta IDE plugin 0.4.2. This release also
includes the newly announced rootstraps of Fremantle SDK Alpha-release. More information is
available in the SDK+ page: http://maemo-sdk.garage.maemo.org

I've just discovered that the latest version of KDEPIMPI (2.10), compiled for the Open Embedded
project, combined with the libqt-mt.so.3 library (for Zaurus qt3 compatibility) produce a working,
stable, PIM suite. The menus, icons, and functions are much better, though it isn't Hildonized. The
calendar/to-list is much better, the address book is fully functional, and synchronizing works. The
mail progam (ompi) and cell-phone data exchange (kammu, based on gammu) each run but are untested.
Many thanks to: Zautrix (the original author of KDEPIMPI), yonggun on OESF for compiling the
package, and tz1 for the qt3 library. The .deb package is available via the OESF forum (for
members) or on the Maemo Garage kdepimpi site.
