The ink is still drying from Gateway's introduction of the
MD / UC
Series, but already both machines have been thoroughly tested and reviewed. Starting with the more
mainstream MD7801u, Gateway trimmed a number of features in hopes of producing a lower-cost machine
that bargain-minded buyers would take interest in. To that end, there was nothing really remarkable
about the MD, but that's exactly what the company was going for; all in all, it ended up as a
solid, well-rounded rig that should handle basic tasks with ease. Moving down (size wise, anyway),
the UC was deemed "incredibly stylish," and it was found to be impressive in pretty much every
testable aspect. Of course, it won't handle gaming or hardcore video editing, but given the $799
price tag, we know you weren't expecting it to. Feel 'em both out in the read links below.

New site Tweetvisor, created by
Nelu Lazar, offers users an alternate interface to view and interact with Twitter that some users
will really like. (unlike
Tweetree, for example, which I think lacks unique and compelling features).
The site places messages from other users directed to you (replies and direct messages) in the
sidebar, and offers search in the middle of the screen. Users can save searches and see when new
results pop up for that query.
But the compelling feature is the ability to easily administer and switch between multiple
Twitter accounts. Some users control their business, personal and personal work accounts, or just
handle lots of different brands. Tweetvisor is the best browser based solution we’ve seen.
It just launched, so don’t be surprised if there are hiccups.
I still say
Power Twitter is the best browser interface for Twitter, but if you must deal with multiple
accounts, Tweetvisor is for you.

hspace="5" vspace="5" //abr / Here you are the DSG-G3, a 10.1Mpix point and shoot camera which
feature not only a WiFi module, but also a web browser letting you access and upload your art to
the most popular website like Dailymotion, YouTube, Picasa, Flickr... on the fly without the needs
of a PC... The perfect weapon for any serious blogger !br / emLAS VEGAS (CES Keynote), Jan. 8, 2009
– With a focus on making photo sharing easier and more convenient, Sony today
introduced the world’s first Wi-Fi® enabled digital camera that uploads photos and
videos to Web sites through any public hotspot due to its built-in Web browser.br / br / The new
Cyber-shot DSC-G3 digital still camera answers one of the most pressing needs for photo
enthusiasts: how to share those amazing photos and video clips of family, friends and events as
soon as you shoot. The Cyber-shot camera makes it easy to upload images and video directly to
popular photo and video sharing sites wherever a Wi-Fi connection is available.br / br /
“Research shows that our customers greatly value sharing images and video clips, but they
often forget or don’t have enough time if they wait to get home to upload images,” said
Phil Lubell, director of digital camera marketing at Sony Electronics. “Our new Cyber-shot
DSC-G3 camera provides the simplicity and convenience of sharing in the moment, while the impulse
is still fresh in people’s minds.”br / br / The camera can wirelessly connect to any
public hotspot, including hotels, restaurants, coffee shops and airports. Like a computer, the
camera can connect to free or fee-based hotspots, as well as to secure and unsecured access
points.br / br / The new DSC-G3 model comes with complimentary ATT Wi-Fi access to Sony’s
Easy Upload Home Page until Jan. 31, 2012. It includes Wi-Fi access at thousands of ATT hotspots
across the United States, including participating coffee shops, selected book stores and major
quick-serve restaurant locations, as well as hundreds of upscale hotels and airports. br / br /
“By collaborating with Sony to launch the first digital still camera with a built in Web
browser and embedded access across the entire ATT Wi-Fi service network, we’re enabling
consumers to gain quick and convenient access to Sony’s Easy Upload Homepage through
thousands of ATT Wi-Fi hotspots across the country,” said Glenn Lurie, president of
ATT’s emerging device organization. “The wireless capabilities and cutting-edge
features of the G3 camera with the reliable coverage of ATT’s Wi-Fi network offers a unique
consumer experience.”br / br / Uploads Made Easybr / br / The new camera makes it easy to
connect to the Internet and upload images. By pressing the WLAN button on the camera, you can open
its embedded Web browser.br / br / After connecting to the Internet via wireless access points, the
camera automatically navigates to the Sony Easy Upload Home Page, which includes direct links to
photo sharing sites like Shutterflyâ„¢ and Picasaâ„¢ Web Albums;
video sharing sites like YouTubeâ„¢ and Dailymotionâ„¢; and a
photo and video sharing site, such as Photobucketâ„¢. Also, the DSC-G3 camera
allows you to access other sharing sites for uploading photos and videos through its Web browser.br
/ br / Through the Sony Easy Upload Home Page, you can send e-mail notifications from the sharing
Web sites to let friends and family know that you have posted new images and videos for viewing.
This is perfect for sharing with loved ones that were not with you when you took the pictures or
shot the videos.br / br / When friends and family are nearby, you can use the camera to access
photos you may have already uploaded to sharing sites and display them on its high resolution
3.5-inch LCD screen.br / br / The camera supports DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance)
guidelines. By connecting to such DLNA-compatible devices as Sony BRAVIA® televisions
via access points, photos in the camera can be played back with high-definition quality. In
addition to BRAVIA TVs, the camera can connect to other DLNA-compatible devices, such as Sony
VAIO® PCs.br / br / * Smart Camerabr / br / In addition to its wireless sharing
capabilities, the new camera is built for high-performance imaging. The 10-megapixel camera is
about three-fourths of an inch thin and includes a 4X optical zoom Carl Zeiss®
Vario-Tessar lens. Although compact enough to fit in the camera’s slim dimention, this lens
provides excellent sharpness and color accuracy.br / br / The Intelligent Scene
Recognitionâ„¢ feature automatically identifies a total of eight types of scenes
— backlight, backlight portrait, twilight, twilight portrait, twilight using a
tripod, portrait, landscape and macro — and automatically optimizes camera
settings for each challenging shooting situation, taking an additional shot in low and bright light
scenarios.br / br / With Sony’s Face Detection technology, the DSC-G3 camera detects faces in
a scene and adjusts auto focus (AF), auto exposure (AE), flash and white balance accordingly. It
can also distinguish between children and adults, allowing users to to prioritize faces according
to their preference .br / br / Combining the Intelligent Scene Recognition feature with Face
Detection technology, the camera includes an anti-blink function that helps make closed-eye photos
a thing of the past. The camera automatically takes two shots and then determines whether the
subject(s) have closed eyes. It will record images with open-eyed subjects. If both pictures have
subject(s) with closed eyes, the cameras will record one and display a warning so you can try
again.br / br / Sony’s Smile Shutterâ„¢ technology automatically captures a
smile the moment it happens. You can use the adult or child priority setting when shooting scenes
containing both adults and children, and the camera will distinguish one face from another.br / br
/ The camera’s Dynamic Range Optimizer (DRO) determines the best exposure and contrast
settings in almost any shooting environment, giving images a natural look with clearer details that
match what you see with your naked eye. DRO also balances the contrast in scenes with strong
highlight and shadow, recovering detail normally lost in shadow areas. Combining the benefits of
Optical SteadyShotâ„¢ image stabilization with high sensitivity mode, Sony’s
Double Anti-blur feature helps reduce camera shake blur, especially when there is low light . br /
br / Photo Librarybr / br / The Cyber-shot DSC-G3 model is also a “photo album in your
pocket” and has 4GB of internal memory that can store nearly 1,000 full-resolution or 40,000
VGA-quality photos. The 3.5-inch (measured diagonally) wide touch panel Xtra Fine
LCDâ„¢ screen is perfect for photo-like viewing with high contrast and wide-angle
viewing. This Xtra Fine LCD screen delivers high resolution images (921,600 dots) that is
approximately four times higher than conventional LCDs.br / br / The camera also makes it easy to
sort thousands of images. While shooting, images are organized automatically in albums by date. All
images in an album can be displayed simultaneously as thumbnails on the screen, and the desired
image can quickly be selected.br / br / There are four ways to view photos: standard folder view,
date view, favorites and event view. Images can be stored and managed on both the camera’s
4GB internal memory and an optional Memory Stick® media card.br / br / In addition to
the in-camera organization and search functionality, bundled Picture Motion Browser (PMB) software
allows you to quickly organize images on a compatible PC. The software lets you search and organize
images by event or face, and you can display images in calendar or chronological views organized
into folders.br / br / Pricing and Availabilitybr / br / The Cyber-shot DSC-G3 camera is now
available in black for about $500. The camera and a range of accessories can be purchased online at
sonystyle.com, at Sony Style® retail stores (www.sonystyle.com/retail), at military base
exchanges and at authorized dealers nationwide./em...br /br / a

Sharp’s ASV screen technology.br / br / emLAS VEGAS, NV, January 8, 2009 -- Sharp today
introduces the Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) AQUOS® E Series, including the E77U models
and the E67U models, rounding out a lineup of new Full-HD 1080p LCD TVs that bring enhanced picture
quality to the forefront. The E Series features the E77U models in 65- (64 33/64" diagonal), 52-
(52 1/32" diagonal), 46- (45 63/64" diagonal) and 40-inch (40" diagonal) screen class sizes
(LC-65E77U, LC-52E77U, LC-46E77U and LC-40E77U respectively), and the E67U models in 40- (40"
diagonal) and 32-inch (31 35/64" diagonal) screen class sizes (LC-40E67U and LC-32E67U
respectively).br / br / All E series models employ a new Advanced Super View (ASV) Superlucent
Panel for a dramatically bright and crisp picture with reduced haze and reflectivity. Additionally,
the entire series boasts a new elegant design with color accents at the bottom of the frame and a
newly designed convenient swivel stand.br / br / “When consumers decide to purchase a
flat-screen TV, their top priority is superior picture quality. With the AQUOS E Series, Sharp is
giving consumers a powerful combination of image-enhancing features and a wide range of choices
across several screen sizes,” said Bob Scaglione, senior vice president and group manager,
Product and Marketing Group, Sharp Electronics Corporation.br / br / E77U Seriesbr / The E77U
Series features Sharp’s Fine Motion Enhanced technology for 120Hz Frame Rate Conversion and a
fast pixel response time of 4ms, ensuring the LC-65E77U, LC-52E77U, LC-46E77U and LC-40E77U provide
the ultimate medium for high-definition viewing of fast-action imagery.br / br / With Sharp’s
new 10-bit ASV Superlucent panel and 10-bit processing engine, the E77U models are able to achieve
maximum expression of the Full-HD 1080p picture. The Superlucent panel applies an ultra-smooth
finish that minimizes gloss while intensifying panel brightness and contrast. The ASV panel with
Spectral Contrast Engine XD (Extreme Dark), UD (Ultra Dark) on the LC-40E77U, provides a high
dynamic contrast ratio, enabling deep blacks and vibrant colors, and a special dejudder feature
results in the smooth reproduction of film content.br / br / Two components of the Spectral
Contrast Engine, Optical Picture Control (OPC), which automatically adjusts luminance to room
brightness and lighting conditions, and Brightness Preservation picture processing also make these
models very energy efficient. In fact, all models in this series exceed the EPA's ENERGY

provide a stunning picture, but it also features a new design sure to complement any decor. The
black cabinet blends elegantly into to a soft champagne gold hue that accents the bottom of the

Once every 27 years or so, the mysterious binary star system of a
href="http://aladin.u-strasbg.fr/alapre.pl?-c=05+01+58.1341%2B43+49+23.910button=RGB" title="A
picture of the system"Epsilon Aurigae/a undergoes an eclipse, lasting nearly two years. This gives
this system the distinction of having both the longest eclipse and the longest period of any known
binary system. However, it is not clear why the eclipses last so long, or even what the structure
of the system actually looks like--a href="http://www.astro.uiuc.edu/~kaler/sow/almaaz.html"the
main star is a supergiant/a, with a radius as big as the distance from the earth to the sun, and
yet its light is dimmed for two years by something yet bigger. The next eclipse is due to begin in
August of 2009, and as part of the a href="http://astronomy2009.us/"International Year of Astronomy
in 2009/a, amateur astronomers are being called on to make their own observations of the changing
brightness of Epsilon Aurigae. If you want to try it yourself, you can read the a
href="http://www.aavso.org/aavso/10startutorial.pdf" title="Warning: PDF"training guide/a to find
out how to do your own observations and report them. In addition, the two scientists who organized
observations of the previous eclipse both have webpages [a
href="http://www.hposoft.com/Campaign09.html"1/a, a
href="http://mysite.du.edu/~rstencel/epsaur.htm"2/a] which are coordinating the organization for
the upcoming observation. If you want to learn more about the science behind ε
Aurigae, a good rundown with links to papers is available a
