height="534" /Want to be able to say "John Mayer" behind the wheel and have the Pandora app on your
phone queue up a station of similarly smooth jams automatic-like? That's where Ford Sync is
going./p pWe were able to sit down with Ford CEO Alan Mulally and Director of Product and Biz-Dev
for Electronics Douglas VanDagens to talk Sync's platform potential before Mulally's CES keynote
tonight, and said open API for mobile developers to mate their apps with Sync is one of the more
exciting things we heard. No timetable was given, but it's most definitely in the oven. Whether
developers will take the bait and make their apps Sync-compatible, we'll see. /p pAlso baking is
the ability for Sync to detect a data connection on your phone if you have one, and then use it to
pipe in even more content from just about any web source imaginable. Sync 3.0, unveiled yesterday,
already added some awesome new features to an already terrifically polished system, but it sounds
like there's even more goodness coming./p br clear="both" style="clear: both;"/ br clear="both"

2009] After a hard day's work, a man and his gadget need some rest on the CES showfloor, so what
better way to do it other than chill out at the USB charging zone? With so many devices these days
relying on USB to keep it juiced up, it makes perfect sense to see plenty of people milling about
while their USB devices take a breather. You can find this in the South Hall if your DS, PSP or

Talk about covering all of your bases. ViewSonic has unloaded a netbook, a
3D LCD and a 3D projector here at CES, but it has somehow found the time to also unload not
one, not eight, but nine new digital photo frames. It's adding in the 7-inch VFM735-52M,
8-inch VFM835-52M and 10-inch VFM1035W-52M to its SwifTouch lineup for $129, $159 and $189,
respectively, and it's also busting out a full line of 4:3 frames for those still deathly afraid of
widescreen. Finally, it's previewing a pair of all-in-one frames with inbuilt alarm clocks and AM /
FM radio, both of which are on track for a Q2 release at $99.

Here's a snapshot of the Asus Eee Stick GMC-1 that aims to bring a Wii-like gaming experience to
the computer. I don't think this will catch on in terms of PC gaming in time to come, as it has
already been out for some time already but you don't see developers flocking to include Eee Stick
functionality into games. I hope this won't go the way of the ill-fated Nintendo Power Glove, but
it doesn't look likely that it will be the next big thing./p pPermalink: a
