There's no Turbo Boost or anything involved with this bunch, but Mio has launched four mildly interesting navigators for 2009. The new Moovs all sport an improved "Spirit" software platform, and while the S300 features a 3.5-inch panel, text-to-speech and 12 million POIs, the S500 steps up to a 4.7-inch panel. The Moov S556 keeps the same 4.7-inch display but adds in Bluetooth and Junction View, while the S700 breaks out a 7-inch panel. The whole lot is supposed to ship before the second half of this year for $199.99, $249.99, $299.99 and $299.99 in order of mention.

Voici donc une très belle opération orchestrée par la rédaction de L’Express et l’agence Ogilvy PR dont vous pouvez suivre le quotidien sur le blog dédié à l’opération : 3001, l’odysée de l’info. Un grand bravo à Eric (le rédac-chef) dont vous pouvez lire les réflexions sur mutation de son métier sur son blog : L’Express nouvelle formule.

Je suis plus qu’enthousiaste vis à vis de cette initiative car les métiers de la Presse en ligne ont encore besoin d’évoluer pour s’adapter à la révolution des médias sociaux (cf. mon précédent billet sur le sujet : L’avenir de la presse en ligne est-il dans le social ?). Je vous invite également à lire la très bonne série d’articles publiés par Fabrice : Défendre la presse écrite face à la menace d’internet, Le web a profondément changé les journaux américains et Le New York Times s’appuie sur un réseau d’experts pour traiter l’information.

Loin de moi l’idée de faire du teasing, mais je peux vous assurer que nous n’en sommes qu’au début et que je travaille en ce moment sur un projet pour L’Express qui poussera beaucoup plus loin cette logique de production conjointe. Mais j’aurais sans doute l’occasion de vous en reparler.

Ever tried out Facebook Lexicon? It’s a nifty tool that looks for occurrences of certain terms on Facebook users’ walls and creates a graph that shows how often is the term mentioned over time.

The Lexicon has been around for quite a while now, but while playing with it today I noticed an interesting occurence, which you can see in the image below. Terms like “happy birthday,” obviously, are mentioned pretty much all the time, while “Obama” has had a huge spike during the presidential elections and the subsequent victory of Barack Obama.

However, the term “sex” has an unexplainable spike on Friday, May 30th of 2008. Perhaps it’s just a glitch, or maybe I’m missing something obvious, but I can’t for the life of me remember why would people mention this word more on that particular day than any other day.
