So the post-publication story goes like this: Out publishes its incisive thinkpiece about Manhunt.net [NSFW], the biggest gay hook-up site on the net, and its effects on gay culture. Some of the article devotes itself to the political leanings of the co-founders, Larry Basile and Jonathan Crutchley. Andy Towle at Towleroad takes that bit of info and reports that Crutchley has had donated $2300 to the McCain campaign. Not too many people are happy to hear that. Not his co-founder, not the McCain campaign, and certainly not the members, many of whom cancel their subscriptions. Crutchley subsequently steps down as chairman of the company, igniting another controversy over whether the actions of the gay community constitute a political witchhunt.

Yeah, this is kinda two separate posts in one, but oh well.

As was rumored back in May, Comcast has finally come out and officially announced that it's capping its broadband at 250 GB per month as of October 1. Despite earlier reports, there was no confirmation of any overage fees for those who go beyond that. While I still think that tiered broadband is an overall mistake, Comcast's plan is a lot better than most other ISPs who are putting in broadband caps that are often ridiculously low. And, since Comcast has already had a secret cap, all this new plan does is finally reveal what that cap is. So, realistically speaking, this is a step in the right direction, in that Comcast is actually revealing what its secret cap is and it's made the cap so high that it shouldn't impact most users.

I got my macbook in December of '06 (Christmas), then my mother ( Non-Computer Savvy) got me apple care for it in December of '07 I thought she had registered it online, but she didn't. I now have a crack in my palm rest :mad:, and i checked with apple to make sure i had applecare, but i didn't. My question is, since I bought applecare before my mac was a year old, but didn't think I had to register it, assuming i find the registration number, can I register my Macbook with applecare?
