Ubisoft has revealed a new batch of downloadable content for its incredibly aggressive African
safari, a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/far-cry-2"emFar Cry 2/em/a. Due to be released "by the
end of November," the emFortune's Pack/em bolsters the game's collection of weapons, multiplayer
maps and, perhaps most importantly, fuel-guzzling transports. It's not quite the turret-equipped
elephant we were hoping for, but a quad should do us fine. There's also a "unimog," which is either
a big truck thing or an adorable emFinal Fantasy/em creature with a tertiary education. Probably
the former.br /br /Also added to both the single- and multiplayer components are three new weapons:
the sawed-off shotgun; the silenced shotgun; and the crossbow. Be sure to use those on Fortune's
four additional multiplayer maps, dubbed emCheap Labor, Last Resort, Lake Smear/em and emFort
Fury/em. br /br /The pack will be available on Xbox Live Marketplace and the PlayStation Store for
$10 -- or two of the diamonds you found in a suspicous briefcase in the middle of nowhere.br /div

When most private companies reach 500 shareholders, they trigger an SEC rule which effectively
treats them like a public company and requires them to some of the same reporting requirements.
Google ran into this issue just before it went public. Now Facebook is quickly reaching that same
threshold as it continues to hire and allows employees to
sell shares to outside investors.
But in a letter dated October 13, 2008 (embedded below), Facebook’s lawyers argue that rule
should not apply to Facebook because most of the shareholders are employees. The SEC granted the exemption.
So Facebook can keep issuing both restricted stock and options to new employees without fear of
triggering the (costly) reporting requirements. As long as most of those shares stay inside
Facebook, the company should be all right. But if enough employees take advantage of its program
allowing them to sell shares to outsiders, and the number of outside investors grows beyond a
handful or a few dozen, the SEC might want to revisit this decision.

Dungeons & Dragons Online and a program called windows packet editor recently came to my
attention I was wondering if you’d be able to spare a few moments to give me a
better understanding of WPE and how it can be used to *ahem* alter packets of data so I might be
able to say duplicate items or alter certain in game values in DDO. Kindest regards, [name

Sure, here’s the answer:
No.
The reasons:
Unless there are egregiously bad security problems with the DDO protocol, hacking packets on
your end should only change the way things look on your end. See my previous post
“How to hack an
MMO.”

Bethesda has confirmed that it's "working on" patches to fix a number of issues discovered in all
three versions of Fallout 3.
While Fallout 3 has made a great start sales wise, numerous users have been left with a sour taste
in their mouth after running into technical issues with the game.
Complaints on the game's official forums report crashes, lock-ups and graphical glitches,
particularly with the PS3 version. But Bethesda assures players that a fix is on the way.
"We are currently working on a patch for all three platforms," wrote a Bethesda community manager.
"When I've got more details, I'll let everyone know."
A brief and vague statement then, but at least we know for sure that Bethesda's on the case. Have
you been one of the unlucky people to suffer from problems with the game? Fingers crossed it'll all
be sorted soon.
