I currently updated my iphone to the 2.2 FW using pwnage. I was playing around with my iphone and
noticed that I was on the edge network for quite a while. When I checked the usage, I noticed that
I accumulated about 29 mb of data surfing on the EDGE network. I freaked out because I heard
stories of how high these service providers charge for 1 mb. My service provider currently is
FIDO.
My question is, is there anyway to shut off the EDGE network so that my Iphone will inhibit my
ability to automatically connect to EDGE. I strictly want to use WI-FI only.

Glaser, like many of the other execs we're hearing from, also wants to avoid the aura that comes

Axiotron has the upgrade bug
again, and it's making a litany of small, useful improvements to its Modbook that add up to a seriously improved machine. For
starters, the rig now has a new hardware controller board for improved sleep, battery and system
performance. Moreover, a fresh bonding process for the AnyView LCD panel and paper-emulating
ForceGlass screen cover results in a "better contrast ratio, a firmer etched drawing surface, and
decreased parallax between pen tip and cursor." Also of note, the updated beast incorporates the
company's QuadCoat process, which protects the top shell with a liquid metallic coating and
decreases the weight to 5.3-pounds. The Modbook starts at $2,249 by itself, or users can
convert their non-aluminum Core 2 Duo-based Macbook into one starting at $1,299.

I just bought a new Macbook 2.4 Aluminum. I had the pervious Black Macbook with a 320 HDD. I want
to replace the 250 in my new Macbook with the 320giger. I've installed the drive and when I boot
up, it just keeps shutting down and booting up and so on. Never reveals the Apple Logo..
I've also tried holding down the option key and it sees the drive as I can select it, but it again
won't mount or something and just continues to reset it's self.
The HDD worked fine in my old Black Macbook (sold yesterday), and I can see it when I connect it to
my new Macbook through usb from an external enclosure.
Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I called Apple and they did not have any answers for me and said they could not really support it
as it was not the hard drive that shipped with the Macbook..
FYI the HDD that did ship with my Macbook works fine..

For Christmas, I'm thinking of giving my girlfriend a subscription to some web hosting service. She
keeps misplacing thumb drives and stuff, and losing her files that way. Some web space to store her
files would be the perfect solution.
She won't be hosting any websites or anything, just storing files, that's all.
So far, I actually think MobileMe seems to be the best solution, being simple, Windows and
Mac-compatible, and it happens to come with email, calendar and photos (I think she would like the
web gallery feature alot), as well as easy web access to her files. It can also be mapped as a
networked drive on Windows (and used in the Finder in OS X), making it ideal. 20 GB of space is
plenty for her.
I can get an account for her for the year for ~$60 on eBay.
Does anyone have better ideas or suggestions? I'd like to hear them!
