Spin is a game that challenges shape recognition, one of the fastest mechanisms of the human brain.

The iPhone version of Spin takes advantage of the multi-touch controls, allowing the players to
quickly spin objects in three axes using simple gestures. With the updated controls (multi-touch
makes a huge difference in gameplay), re-tuned difficulty levels and the large screen on the
iPhone, this is the definitive mobile version.
Spin for the iPhone is an adaptation of the mobile hit SiL, which won two awards at the Mobile Game
Innovation Hunt in GDC 2007 as well as the Best Mobile Game award in the 2006 Forum Nokia Pro
competition.

Secret Exit is a small indie developer located in Helsinki, Finland. The team of five has been
working on mobile games for the past year and will soon be making more fruits of their labor
public. They are an eclectic mix of developers with backgrounds in the demoscene, mobile gaming,
and mainstream PC gaming (the AI lead in the popular PC game Crysis is among them). We look forward

Le fabricant du Blackberry,Research In Motion (RIM), est en danger de
se faire avaler par Microsoft avec la valeur de son action en chute libre suite à la crise
économique et financière et à cause d’une pression constante sur les
marges.
L’action vaut à peine 60$, en baisse de 88$ par rapport à sa valeur de 148$
il y a seulement 4 mois et RIM joue le candidat à la reprise.
Peter Misek, pour Canaccord Adams, pense que Microsoft a déjà fait un
premier pas, suite à une offre en attente de rachat de RIM pour 50$ par action si le titre
devait plonger bien en-dessous. Il est entendu que RIM ne s’opposerait pas à cette
reprise pour autant que l’approche de Microsoft reste amicale et non agressive.
Un accord éventuel entre ces deux sociétés pourrait changer tout le paysage
du marché des Smartphone, avec un message fort en direction de Google et leur rêve
mégalomane de conquérir le marché du mobile et le retse du monde.
RIM-Soft combinerait 20 millions d’utilisateurs de Blackberry avec 18 millions
d’utilisateurs de Windows Mobile, ce qui effectivement ferait de Microsoft un acteur majeur
du mobile.
Mais ce ne sera certainement pas aussi simple pour le géant de Redmond car la plupart des
utilisateurs de Blackberry se sont habitué au système et ne sont pas
forcément prêts à passer à Windows Mobile.
Il faudrait alors que Microsoft songe à un double système ou à adapter le
code de Windows Mobile pour supporter les fonctions du Blackberry.
Non seulement Seagate va passer au Solid State Drive (SSD) en 2009,
mais la société pourrait également en faire son principal produit en
remplacement des disques durs traditionnels.
S’adressant à CNET, le responsable sénior des développements de
marchés de Seagate, Rich Vignes, pense que la première étape consiste
à persuader les gens que les SSD sont fiables en établisant un standard de
l’industrie pour leur endurance et leur durée de vie.
Une fois cette mission accomplie, R. Vignes a toutes les raisons de croire au succès des
SSD et les spécialistes du marché semblent être de son côté.
La société pense avoir assez d’expérience pour entrer sur le
marché des SSD, après des années passées à résoudre des
erreurs de connexion.
Seagate commencera par tester le marché en fournissant des SSD aux grandes entreprises,
avant d’envahir le marché de la grande consommation.
Mais ils ne sont pas les seuls à reluquer le marché des SSD. Intel a
déjà commencé à produire des SSD destinés à la fois aux
consommateurs individuels et aux enterprises. Samsung n’est pas un petit joueur sur le
marché de la grande consommation et vend déjà des SSD à Apple et
Dell. Ils ont aussi annoncé que leurs SSD avaient été choisis par HP pour
leurs serveurs lames ProLiant.
Mais R. Vignes ne s’inquiète pas trop de la concurrence. “Pour certaines
sociétés c’est un nouveau marché et un nouveau produit, tandis que
pour nous le marché existe et c’est un nouveau produit”, qu’il dit.
City of Ember was the surprise closing-night film at Fantastic Fest, but I found out about
the surprise a little early (which is always fun). I was able to see the film earlier in the week
so I could interview director Gil Kenan, who
showed up in Austin with surprise guest (to me, too!) Bill Murray for the closing-night
festivities. Kenan has directed a pair of entertaining and visually stunning family-friendly
features, the Oscar-nominated animated film Monster House and now the City of Ember adaptation, which
opens in theaters on Friday. Not only that, but Kenan landed both of these projects right after he
graduated from UCLA, where his short film The Lark won him a lot of attention. We talked
about what he's done to make City of Ember as beautiful a film as it is, and how he found such
compelling lead actors. He's currently linked to a new Robert Zemeckis production, Airman, and we

has become a powerhouse on the indie scene, and Heath Ledger ... we know what became of him. I'm
guessing that his death and reminiscing moments about his work is what inspired this next piece of
news: Ace Showbiz reports that ABC
Family is going to make the Shakespeare-inspired film into a television series, with the film's
director, Gil Junger, signed on to helm the pilot. In it, Kate and Bianca Stratford will face
"their new high school environment." I don't know if that means freshman hitting the big leagues,
or the girls moving to a new zip code, but I can only hope that they come up with a new love
interest for Kate. There's only one Patrick Verona.
Hater has been on a long road to production, but it looks like the time is finally here.
Almost a year
ago, Guillermo del Toro had signed on to direct the adaptation of David Moody's novel. But then
the Hobbit swept him away and left Haterdirector-less. Have no fear,
Moody fans, the pic is back on track. Variety
reports that the director of The Orphanage, Juan Antonio Bayona, will helm the feature
when it kicks into gear next year. So, if you liked the one-two producer-director punch of del Toro
and Bayona, this should be a treat!

Ah mais au fait, il y a aussi des Dell. Ah, et puis des Apple. Toshiba va en annoncer, mais
faites comme si vous ne saviez rien tant que Nvidia ne le mentionne pas… ils deviennent
soupe-au-alit dès qu’on évoque une panne généralisée.
L’honnêteté coûte la porte chez Nvidia, apparemment.

follows Minamoto
Yo****sune (Kurou) as he embarks on a journey to the end of time with a beautiful,
mysterious woman after she transforms him into a vampire. Based on 2002 ten-volume manga of the
same name, KUROZUKA is full of bloody action, sex, and nudity… or at least
it was supposed to be. Based on the first showing, the latter two seem to be nonexistent in this
anime adaptation, which I guess is understandable considering that it’s a television serie

HP a signé avec la municipalité de Chongquing pour la construction
d’une usine de PC destinée à alimenter la demande dans la région et

HP a ouvert son premier bureau de Chine en 1981 et prétend être le plus grand
fabriquant étranger de PC du pays. Ses opérations de production en Chine sont
concentrées à Shanghai.
Bill Gates a été le plus riche américain sur la liste des
400 premières fortunes de Forbes pendant 15 ans et doit désormais céder le
trône au magna de l’assurance et des bijoux de Berkshire Hathaway, Warren
Buffett.
Bloomberg a annoncé la triste nouvelle avec un nouveau calcul qui doit être
publié plus tard dans le mois.
Bloomberg ne manque pas d’évoquer les effets de la crise économique sur les
plus riches et les revenus nets de l’ex-patron de Microsoft ont perdu 1,5 milliard à
55,5 milliards de dollars, entre le 29 août et le 1er octobre de cette année.
Mais le président de Berkshire Hathaway a de son côté ajouté
8 milliards dans son portefeuille sur la même période, le faisant grossir à
58 milliards de dollars.
