Si ce n'était de tous ces travailleurs montréalais au bas de l'échelle salariale et toutes ces entreprises pas si riches qui profitent du Grand Prix F1 du Canada pour boucler une fin de mois difficile et payer des comptes urgents, je vous dirais que je m'en fous littéralement qu'il n'y ait plus de Formule 1 à Montréal. Je l'ai dit ici souvent, je ne considère pas la course automobile comme un sport et je trouve l'ensemble de la faune F1 plutôt désagréable ... sauf bien entendu les pitounes qui semblent accompagner partout les crétins qui gèrent la F1 et les écuries.

I'm more or less a clueless idiot on this sort of stuff, so I have a few questions about selling my iPhone 3G.

1) I'm on Rogers in Canada, and thus have to pay a $400 Early Termination fee. I assume I have to do this to sell it? What if I want to stay on Rogers, but switch to a different phone/plan (Blackberry). Can I just pop my sim card out, call Rogers and switch my plan, then buy a Blackberry? And do I have to unlock it to sell it?

MySpace has partnered with Hewlett-Packard (HP) to bring print-on-demand capability to the popular social network. That’s right. Those embarrassing photos of you Xeroxing your rear end at the office Christmas party aren’t just on your receptionist’s MySpace albums anymore. They’ll be printable so that even those who haven’t found the Internet yet can see them.

In all seriousness, this means that MySpace, home to over 4 billion images already, may fast become a hub for people looking for an easy way to share and print photos and information online. MySpace is already working with a user base that remains one of the largest in the social networking space, which means that this partnership puts both MySpace and HP at the forefront of the online print on demand market.

The partnership starts off with a simple “Click to Print” icon on MySpace blogs, comments, photos and mail. This will allow users a one click way to print from MySpace. This is where it might make some users nervous. In order for the technology to work, HP and MySpace will be “unlocking” user profile data to format for printing. What this means for users of MySpace with private profiles is that their friends will be able to print their profile photos once they are allowed to view their profile page. I’m not sure this will cause Facebook and Beacon level angst among users, but I’m thinking MySpace and HP might want to make this opt-in for those with private profiles before launch just in case.

In the meantime, this will be rolling out just in time for the holidays, scheduled for November of this year. A future phase of the roll out will include a way to print your MySpace photos on actual merchandise such as hats, mugs, and calendars. This will make gift giving easy for friends and family, but for now it is strictly print to paper. The MySpace and HP partnership will roll out the “Click to Print” feature in America, as well as parts of Australia, Canada and Western Europe.

What the heck is going on here? An artist had hard time getting back in to the USA for a sketch of a crocheted SUV she was working on... For copyright infringement?

Keene Valley resident Jerilea Zempel was detained at the U.S. border this summer because she had a drawing of a sport-utility vehicle in her sketchbook.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers told Zempel they suspected her of copyright infringement.

She was released after more than an hour in custody at the Houlton, Maine, port of entry from New Brunswick, Canada.

Her release came only after she persuaded border guards she was an artist doing a project that involved a crocheted SUV as a statement against America's dependence on oil and love for big vehicles.

"After going through my (laptop) computer, digital camera, cell phone, business cards, suitcase, reading materials, boxes of yarn and crochet tools, she returned with my sketchbook.

Zempel had drawn an SUV covered by a cozy, with its mirrors marked as "ears."

"My sketchbook puzzled her," Zempel said. "It was a cartoon sketch. They couldn't understand what I was doing. She said, ÂÂJust what were you doing in Canada? We think you're engaged in some kind of copyright infringement."

So i upgraded the other day from 2GB of ram to 4GB because FutureShop here in Canada were having a sale... 70 bucks for 4 GB's of Kingston ram. Pretty good deal I spose, haven't seen it cheaper up here yet ... but anyways. I wanted to post this for Logic users/ anyone whos using audio on a Macbook and is thinking about upgrading the ram. So far I have noticed once GREAT improvement. No more problems with Cpu overload or disc not being fast enough or error synching midi with audio. So far all my projects have been fine. Loading times haven't really improved but no more wheel of death. Its pretty much already paid for it self for no longer giving me a headache and now re-wire works pretty much falwlessly when working with lots of reason tracks. IMO if you can upgrade. you won't be dissapointed. Not much of a speed increase just a convenience increase.
