Description:
iScopa "Scopa" is one of the most famous Italian card games. If you don't know it just follow the
quick-help here below or simply try it! You'll learn easily how to play. It's real fun! HELP
Neapolitan Cards This version of the game is based on traditional deck of neapoletan (also known as
spanish) cards. A deck of neapolitan cards has 40 cards grouped in 4 groups of 10 cards each. Every
group is identified by a "seed": "denari" (golden coins), "spade" (swords), "bastoni" (clubs) e
"coppe" (cups). Every card has an amount of seeds equal to its value. They make exception the 8, 9
and 10, which are identified respectively by an infantryman, a knight (on a horse) and a king.
However in every card there's the related seed. Note that the picture on the 1st card (the ace) is
a complex sketch of the seed. Playing Rules The distributor (chosen arbitrarily at the beginning of
the first game) gives 3 hidden cards to every single player and lays 4 open cards on the table.
Every player, at his turn, takes one or more cards from the table of which the value is equal to
his/her own card that he decides to play. When the playing cards are finished, 3 others will be
distributed until there are no cards left in the deck. If there is a card on the table of the same
value as to the one being played, the player is obliged to take that card from the table. If he/she
can't take any card by using the played card, he/she lays it down. When a player takes all the
cards from the table he/she makes 'scopa'! Every 'scopa' accounts for 1 point. The last 'scopa' of
the last turn doesn't count. The last player that has taken a card, gets all the cards left on the
table. Every player receives a point if: he/she has the biggest number of cards ('cards'), he/she
has the biggest number of cards of denari ('denari', so the 'golden coins' are very important!),
he/she has the 7 of denari ('sette-bello', this is the most important card!), he/she has, for every
colour, cards with a value higher than the other player ('primiera'). In case of an equal result,
none of the players receives the point. The first player that obtains 11 points, wins. Values of
the cards (to utilize for the calculation of the "primiera"): 7 (21 points); 6 (18 points); ace (16
points); 5 (15 points); 4 (14 points); 3 (13 points); 2 (12 points); 8, 9 and 10 (10 points)... in
other words collect as many as 6 and 7 possible! Playing a card There are three areas on the
screen. The 'opponent' side (upper part, partially showing three covered cards, which are the cards
controlled by your opponent, the iPhone or iPod), the 'table' (green areas in the middle, where all
the played cards are), the 'player' side (your side, where you can see the cards in your hand).
Each area is highlighted with a yellow neon light on the basis of the turn. Tap on a card in your
hand (be sure your area is highlighted). The card will be highlighted. Now choose how to play it
either tapping on a card on the table or on an free area. If you try a move which is not allowed by
the a.m. rules the cards will be highlighted in red. You can always (during your turn) move the
cards on the table around (just to improve visibility). Points The small numbers on the left side
of the screen show the points as per last match. At the end of a game, a block-notes like screen
will show the collected points. In the order: 'cards', 'denari', 'primiera', 'sette bello',
'scopa'. Clicking on a row will show details on the upper part of the screen. Your points are the
ones under the strange man face. Tips Enjoy ;) CREDITS Created by Luigi Castiglione (C) 2008

I am prone to fits of lust over really, really beautiful books, and no one gets me lustier faster
than Sunday Press, publishers of the gigantic, marvellous "Little Nemo: Splendid Sundays"
collections. These books collect the Sunday Little Nemo comics of Winsor McCay, a surrealist
watercolor genius whose weekly strips were lush, gigantic paintings that took us through the
dreamscape of Little Nemo, a charming and enigmatic boy living in turn-of-the-century America. And
now there's a second volume: "Little Nemo in Slumberland, Many More Splendid Sundays." I grew up
seeing the Little Nemo strips reproduced in "large-format" hardcovers, typically 8.5x11, and I
confess that I didn't really get what the fuss was about. The strips were small and smudgy, the
type spidery and illegible. Then I saw the first Sunday Press collection, "So Many Splendid
Sundays," and I experienced enlightenment. Publisher Peter Maresca has scanned, cleaned up and
reproduced his favorite Nemo pages, at full size, 21" by 16", and at that size, Nemo is a
completely different experience. First of all, you can't read a book this big the way that you
normally would. I couldn't read it at my desk chair -- even in my reading chair I barely fit (as
you can see from these photos). The only way to really read these books is lying on your stomach on
the carpet, the book open, chin propped on your hands, and you are, once again, 10 years old,
reading the funnies on a lazy Sunday. This second volume is every bit as charming and magic as the
first. Mostly, of course, it's made of Nemo strips (120 of them!), but there are a handful of sweet
little essays describing McCay's relationship to Coney Island (it was his muse) and to William
Randolph Hearts, his publisher (and nemesis). There's also a Dinosaur Gertie flip book for you to
cut and assemble, the perfect aperitif for your lazy Sunday with the funnies. Little Nemo in

You might remember, Touchmods was the first team to bring VoIP to the iPod touch (SIP-VoIP in
1.1.2008)
and to the iPhone (Siphon in 2.2008).
After appStore was opened, the Siphon author, Samuel applied for the AppStore distribution of
this SW. Unfortunately apple always finds some reasons NOT to accept it :[
Acc to the explanation of Samuel, first apple did not have a SIP account to test it with, second
times apple did not like the keyboard style of Siphon resembling the iPhone keyboard. Lately,
apple refused Siphon the (already third time), because “Siphon allows Voice over IP on
cellular network”.
Samuel is saying: “In fact, my idea was to allow you to call in GSM/cellular (normal call,
not SIP) even if SIP/VoIP were unavailable.
- Maybe the message is not clear ?
- Maybe this function is not useful ? ..”
So, will the world’s first SIP solution for the apple mobile platform be accepted as last
one by apple? Can NOT apple collect all the comments on the SW instead of bringing up new reasons
every month? Hopefully this post answers many unanswered questions regarding why Siphon keeps
quiet these days.

Here’s the latest installment of a weekly reader interactive segment on the blog, where I
answer reader-submitted e-mails to bcronin@comicbookresources.com (and other e-mails that
don’t require responses).
Enjoy!
Mailbag entries were a bit slim this week - it was almost as if people were spending the
Thanksgiving holiday with their families rather than sending me mailbag entries - how dare they!!
Friendly publicist David got me hip to a cool new thing NBM is doing - a blog for all NBM’s
comic creators! And since NBM has such awesome people as Rick Geary, Neil Kleid, Ted Rall and
Lewis Trondheim, that’s a pretty sweet sounding blog!
Check it out here.

ed!=Awesome! took issue with the #1 fight on the Top 25 Comic Book Battles, and sent me a link

seemed to believe that I picked the results myself - I did not - they were voted on by you, the
readers!

Our favorite young comic book hopeful, Chris Jones, wrote in to show some pages from the comic he
is shopping around:
I talk a lot about the comic I’m working on, and I’d figure you might want to know
what it WAS, and make sure that I wasn’t just pissing into the wind with flights of fancy.
Well, here are the first couple of scripts, and some art for the second issue, drawn by the
wonderful Serena Guerra. If you think it’s worth showing off on the blog or in the letters
section, you can do that, or don’t if you think it’s garbage, or simply choose to
ignore the whole thing. Enjoy!
It’s not like I have a lot of other letters here, Chris, so sure, let’s show everyone
your comic!

The American Gaming Association, the casino industry's biggest trade group, is a
href="http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2008/nov/25/web-betting-wedge-big-gaming/"struggling to reach
a consensus on internet betting/a, as its members take up divergent viewpoints. Some casino
companies support federal regulation for it, while others want states to be able to regulate it
(though maybe not a href="http://techdirt.com/articles/20081119/0317292881.shtml"Kentucky/a);
others, of course, want to see the blanket ban continue, fearful of anything that might let new
competitors in to the market. The AGA's latest approach appears to be to support legislation to
study whether to legalize online betting -- which, we're pretty sure, sounds about as wishy-washy
as could be. br /br / The facts surrounding online gambling in the US are already pretty clear:
previous legislative efforts may have reduced online gambling, but they've also driven American
bettors to largely unregulated services and forced them to use some other often-shady services to
fund their activities -- since US banks are given the a
href="http://techdirt.com/articles/20081109/0136582775.shtml"responsibility/a to stop gambling
sites' funding. The result is that gamblers keep up the same activity they were doing before, but
are now exposed to more danger and risk, while US authorities are missing out on the chance to
collect some taxes. This still seems pretty irresponsible, since gaming regulators in mature
markets would argue that driving consumers into unregulated territory where they're not protected
by laws and rules governing casinos isn't a great idea. br /br / Meanwhile, the AGA's waffling
isn't a surprise, since many of its members hate to see new competition in any form. But existing
casino operators are, arguably, better placed than anyone to compete in new, highly regulated
markets that don't require huge capital outlays on the scale of expensive new properties. Also,
it's hard to understand how more competition for gambling dollars could hurt consumers, when
competition might actually deliver them a number of significant benefits, particularly over
gray-market services of questionable legality.p style="border-top: 1px #aaaaaa dashed;padding-top:

Creative Commons is running a study on what "non-commercial" means to different people -- creators,
remixers, corporations, webmasters, and so on. Many of us give out our works under Creative Commons
"non-commercial" licenses (I do!), but there's a lot of disagreement about where the boundary
between commercial and non-commercial lies. Your contribution to the survey will help Creative
Commons refine this border and come up with something that we can all point to when a disagreement
arises. As previously announced, Creative Commons is studying how people understand the term
“noncommercial use”. At this stage of research, we are reaching out to the Creative
Commons community and to anyone else interested in public copyright licenses –
would you please take a few minutes to participate in our study by responding to this
questionnaire? Your response will be anonymous – we won’t collect any
personal information that could reveal your identity. Because we want to reach as many people as
possible, this is an open access poll, meaning the survey is open to anyone who chooses to respond.
We hope you will help us publicize the poll by reposting this announcement and forwarding this link
to others you think might be interested. The questionnaire will remain online through December 7 or
until we are overwhelmed with responses — so please let us hear from you soon!
