I just got back from the Shutterbug in Portland, OR and the sales rep said that Nikon is lowing the
price tomorrow by $200 for the D80. I went to hold the D40 to see if it fits my hand and ask wether
I should get the D60 for a beginner camera. He said no because the D80 is going to be the same
price as the D60 as of tomorrow. I have been working all summer so I could afford a dslr before I
go back to college in 3 weeks. I am really excited because I might actually be able to afford a
D80! Just thought I would share that. And if anyone was interested in buying a D80...wait till
tomorrow :)

Hello, I own a imac G4 Superdrive with a 800MHz CPU,
256MB of RAM, a geforce2 MX 32MB of RAM, and I believe it has a 60GB hard drive.
I'm aware that those specs are highly outdated, but I'm a college student and can't really afford
to purchase another computer. I have a more modern PC, but I'd rather use mac. So I was wondering
if increasing the memory, hard drive space, and possibiliy the operating system would be worth
putting money into.
Even if I decided to upgrade my imac, I know it won't be a powerhouse. I specifically use my mac
for all the basics, but I'll be using photoshop and perhaps other adobe software for school and
personal use. So I'm wondering what version of photoshop would perform best on my machine (not the
elements versions). I'll also be using blender.
So is the upgrade worth it?

I see this app in the top 25 paid apps, with alright ratings. I have just moved into my dorm, which
doesnt have On Demand.... I know! I liked on demands way of flipping through channels and got very
use to it since i got it about a year ago not to mention channels at my college are different then
at my house. Ayways Whats on looks like it would be a nice app for stuff like this, what do you all
think about it, does it seem like it will be updated for it seems like its missing some key
features, and is there anything similar but better?
BTW i was just kidding, i didnt expect my dorm to have on demand, I know if i dont type this i will
get someone that thinks im dumb
and woops i just noticed i have Whats One instead of on in the title and cant
change it

On pourra lire un compte-rendu de cet ouvrage dans la Bryn Mar Classical Review A Referential
Commentary and Lexicon to Homer, Iliad VIII Adrian Kelly Oxford University Press Series: Oxford
Classical Monographs ISBN-13: 978-0-19-920355-0 528 pages, 234x156 mm Description de
l'éditeur This book aims to provide the reader of Homer with the traditional knowledge and
fluency in Homeric poetry which an original ancient audience would have brought to a performance of
this type of narrative. To that end, Adrian Kelly presents the text of Iliad VIII next to an
apparatus referring to the traditional units being employed, and gives a brief description of their
semantic impact. He describes the referential curve of the narrative in a continuous commentary,
tabulates all the traditional units in a separate lexicon of Homeric structure, and examines
critical decisions concerning the text in a discussion which employs the referential method as a
critical criterion. Two small appendices deal with speech introduction formulae, and with the
traditional function of Here and Athene in early Greek epic poetry. Table des matières
Introduction 1. Text and Referential Apparatus 2. Commentary 3. Lexicon 4. Textual Discussion

When I was in high school, I listened to a lot of chick singers. I would lay on my bedroom floor
and listen to Tori Amos, Joni Mitchell, Carole King, Sarah McClachlan, Suzanne Vega, Liz Phair
and others and while writing terrible short stories about my angsty teenaged life. The chick
singer phase continued into college, though to a much lesser extent (well, except for Tori, which
I’m sure I’ll end up telling you about at some point).
One night after work about 10 years ago, I picked up a 3-disc compilation that Rolling Stone put
out called
The Rolling Stone Women in Rock Collection. On disc 2 of that set I discovered a
song I’d never heard before, but loved immediately, “At Seventeen” by Janis Ian. Outside of that song, however, I never really bothered to
seek out any other music by her.
(photo: janisian.com)
A couple of months ago, I was browsing around eMusic and I
noticed that Janis’s
Stars album was recommended for me. I took a listen and liked what I heard, so I
downloaded it and a couple of others and enjoyed everything. It kind of baffled me that I
hadn’t discovered her back in high school during my chick singer days. I guess better late
than never, right?
Earlier this week, I attended a book signing for her recently-released autobiography,
Society’s Child. She spoke for about 30 minutes, telling some stories from the
book, did a 30-minute Q&A (I was actually quite proud that not a single stupid question was
asked, which is never the norm when I attend Q&A’s), then did the signing. She was very
nice and gracious and seemed genuinely happy to talk to her fans. Getting to meet artists in such
a low-key, relaxed atmosphere is always a good thing, and I’m glad I went. I recommend you
pick up her book and
the accompanying CD she just released. And, of course, go see her if she’s going to be
in a city near you.

When you live in downtown Toronto, you quickly become accustomed to the people calendar -- when the
streets will be silent, and when they'll be buzzing. It starts when school lets out -- young kids
hit the playgrounds while the college kids head home and free up the late-night sidewalks. Every
third person is now a tourist, stopping every few feet for pictures or to look at a map. On the
weekends, the city often becomes a ghost town, as hordes head up north to cottages. But then it's
back to school, often marked by the eager new engineers running around the city painted purple.
And just a few days later, they're joined by slick stars and a million press badges as the Toronto
International Film Festival gears up. The stars are out, as are the press, the movie lovers, and
the eager onlookers. Teeny boppers buzz like packs of bees around the Four Seasons and other
Yorkville haunts for a peek at someone famous. It's movies and fans everywhere.
But reviews don't give you a taste of the city, nor do quick glimpses in films like
Chicago and Urban Legend. You can see it retro-style with SCTV, but that city is
in the past. The best way to get a taste of Toronto without being here is through Canadian
filmmaker Don McKellar. Between the films he's directed and those he's acted in, you can get many
tastes of this town, from exotic women to last nights on Earth. In honor of the fest, and of the
wonderful T-Dot, I offer you: Childstar and Monkey Warfare.

i came back from class and woke my laptop up from sleep. my left USB port is no longer working, my
airport wifi is no longer working, my sound is no longer working (although it is still listed in my
system profiler and my airport is not).
When I play a youtube, it will play for 2 seconds and then stop..... All things point to logic
board, right? I'm a poor college student and don't have the money to buy a new logic board for my
warranty-less MBP!

Hey everyone. I'm not sure if this is the right place for my question, but I wanted to get opinions
from you guys. I use Microsoft Word, Excel and sometimes, Power Point quite often at college. They
have PCs of course... and I have an iMac. And I wanted to get Microsoft Office at home.
Now, I was looking on the web for different prices and all that. I wasn't sure between buying
Windows XP (because I work with XP at college, not Vista) and downloading Bootcamp, or Microsoft
Office for Mac. Also, I wasn't sure if the Mac version was similar to the one for Windows... and
also if I could transfer files from the PC to Mac versions without problems.
Basically, money wise, if I buy one or the other, there isn't too much of a difference. But I
haven't looked everywhere for the best prices available, although I'm guessing it's pretty much the
same most places (internet).
So what do you guys think? I read a few reviews here and there and it seems like some people have a
few problems with the Mac version, while others say it's great. Any advice? Thanks in advance!
