spectateur, elle a semble-t-il servi de modèle à l'interprète de "Lonely".
Lors d'un concert en Amérique du Sud, ce 30 août,Akon a quitté la scène pour aller à la rencontre des ses fans,
mais quand il a voulu les quitter, cela s'est mal passé. Et l'artiste a voulu montrer son
mécontement en poussant une fan dans le public et en en frappant une autre au visage..

Le dernier single de Cyndi Lauper, "Into The Nightlife", bénéficie enfin d'un clip !
La chanteuse propose donc pour son grand retour ce premier extrait de son nouvel album, "Bring Ya
To The Brink". Elle sera en concert au Bataclan de Paris le 15 octobre prochain.
Remettons d'emblée les choses en place : de par sa musique résolument soul,
Aimée Anne Duffy se rangerait plutôt du côté d'une Dusty Springfield, avec en plus le mérite d'écrire ses propres
chansons. Elle n'en est d'ailleurs pas à son coup d'essai, puisque qu'elle avait
déjà enregistré un premier E.P. sobrement nommé Aimée Duffy en 2004 ; c'est à cette occasion qu'elle a pu rencontrer
Bernard Buttler (ex-Suede, The
Tears), depuis devenu un collaborateur régulier, pour ne pas dire son pygmalion.
Artiste propre sur elle, Duffy ne défraye pas la chronique. Tout juste a-t-elle eu
quelques soucis avec son beau-père, et il n'y a pas eu de quoi vraiment alimenter les
feuilles de choux. Profil bas, donc, pour cette chanteuse aussi réservée à
la ville que sur scène. Mais autant le dire tout de suite, ses concerts sont mornes et
soporifiques au possible, sans aucune vie ni énergie. Au moins, avec Amy Winehouse, pour un peu qu'elle vienne, on pourrait prendre des paris, alors
qu'avec Duffy, rien, on se croirait à un concert de Godspeed You
Black Emperor (où que soit placée la virgule), avec les mouches qui
volent.
Quant à l'album, les choses se présentent déjà sous un meilleur
augure. Si l'on fait exception de l'épouvantable Mercy, il se
révèle globalement agréable, et contient même une perle intemporelle
du nom de Warwick Avenue, qui pourrait à elle seule inciter à
acheter le disque si seulement elle ne se détachait pas autant du lot. Car le reste se
révèle efficace mais très commun. La production est bonne - meilleure que
chez Amy Winehouse - mais il est difficile d'oublier qu'il ne s'agit pas de la bande originale
d'un film un peu daté. Ceci étant, avec plus de deux millions de disques vendus,
nul doute que cela ne gêne pas grand-monde, d'autant plus que l'avenir s'annonce radieux
pour elle, Tom Jones ayant émis le souhait d'enregistrer
avec elle. Et si Tom Jones est client...

Considered"'s "Live in
Concert" series.
Those only interested in experiencing live Radiohead in the flesh will have to be in Japan in
October, as the band's six shows there are its only upcoming dates at the moment.

tellement digne, bordel, désespéré mais flamboyant toujours.
Musicalement d'une grande cohérence l'album nouveau-né de David
Lafore est une collection idéale de titres entêtants, électriques,
érudits, humeurs caraïbes ou jamaïquaines y côtoient, comme une
évidence, classe british et rockn'roll chaviré.

En un mot, de la chair en combustion, des pleurs qui ricanent, des rires qui grincent comme une
double porte ouverte sur l'amour. Cette porte rouillée trop souvent poussée, il la
défonce à coups de sarcasmes et de vérités.
Porte double... ? Pourquoi ?
Parce que rien n'est simple, parce que la bonté peut annihiler, comme la haine galvaniser.
Parce que l'humain est une éternelle duplicité et que certains ont le courage de la
découvrir.
Ce n'est pas un concert de chansons qui est là...offert. C'est une bombe de couleurs et de
sentiments. C'est un peu de vous pour vous...

jeune a 22 ans, le plus âgé... non, on ne vous le dira pas !

Akon has done
it again - created controversy in the
Caribbean. This time, Guyana is his
territory of choice. At a concert in Guyana's National Stadium that was part of the
regional Carifesta
celebrations, the hip-hop singer was
crowd surfing his way across the sea of
fans as he tried to reach a camera platform in the middle of the audience. A few celebrity-struck
supporters got there before he did and there seems to have been a skirmish as Akon tried to mount
the platform. Once he alighted onto the stand, he slapped one of the women hard enough to send
her reeling off the podium.
Video footage of the
incident is all over the Internet and Guyanese bloggers are interpreting this latest Akon
outburst as a demonstration of the singer's misogyny. Living
Guyana questions why the country's mainstream media failed to mention the incident in
their coverage of the concert:
In all the local reports about this concert why did (they)…not report that Akon physically
assaulted two females in full view of thousands of Guyanese?
Akon has a reputation of assaulting people in various forms. He dry humped with a fifteen year
old young lady in Trinidad and threw a boy off the stage in the US. This guy is clearly a lunatic
and needs to be locked up (sounds familiar?) to protect him from continuing his assault on
innocent people.
He is even more
outraged when he finds out how much Akon was paid for his performance, calling it “a
US$160,000 slap in the face of Guyanese women”:
This Akon incident is another example of the kind of eye pass Guyanese have come to suffer and in
fact happily tolerate. Imagine 20,000 people were there and not one had raised this moment of
abuse of a Guyanese woman. Any man with any principles would have defended this woman.
This is a travesty. We call on Minister Rohee to condemn Akon and to bar him from ever entering
Guyana again. Whoever this lady is she needs to get a good lawyer and sue this idiot.
Interestingly enough, Guyana911 places the
blame squarely at the feet of the ladies:
Earlier when those clowns tried to get on stage…they were pushed off. You don't interrupt a
concert or a national event like that. When that happens sometimes physical effort is needed to
straighten out stuff.
If those two jokers want to crawl on the platform, whats Akon to do? Stand and hold the mic and
just watch them? Or is he supposed to perform and ignore them while they show off their shit.
He should of punched their ass off. Teach them some self control.. Everybody knows Akon
rightfully hates a woman that shows her ass off.
I'm not seeing how what Akon did was wrong.

Guyana thinks there are bigger issues at stake:
One of the really bothersome negatives I encountered during Carifesta was something bigger than
its lack of focus (I'm still scratching my head about the relevance of some of the events, for
instance), but Akon presence aside, my biggest problem with it all was the lack of inclusion of
younger voices on discussions about the condition of the Caribbean region.

Image Entertainment has announced they have recently acquired rights to distribute 'k.d. lang: Live
in London', and will release it for Blu-ray on February 3rd, day-and-date with the DVD release. No
technical specs for this release have been announced at this time, but we expect to learn more as
the we get closer to the release date....
