The people over at Evil Mad Scientist Laboratories have an interesting project. You can download
the plans for making this Sinusoidal Bracelet on your laser cutter. Don't have a laser cutter? No
problem, you can have your acrylic cut from places like Pololu.
Our bracelets are cut from a single sheet of acrylic (using a laser, obviously!) in concentric
wavy rings to form a nesting set of various sizes. The light plays through the transparent acrylic
in fun and fascinating ways.

Freelance animator Janne needed a cheap way to do a whole lot of CPU-intensive 3D rendering, so he
built a Linux cluster into an Ikea filing cabinet to get the job done. The Helmer was a whole lot
cheaper than what CPU cases would cost for the servers he built, and it saved a lot of space, too.
Check out the Helmer Linux cluster site to get the details of how Janne mounted the motherboards
and fans inside the cabinet to create a home-friendly, energy-efficient, six-server cluster./p div

Now that it's fall and the apples are ripe in my neck of the woods (New Hampshire), I thought I'd

home brew hard cider. It's a very simple first-time home brew and it's very rewarding. I've
never liked the taste of beer or any other alcohol for that matter, but a good cider is hard not
to like. Firstly, this Instructable will explain the process for producing all natural, organic,
100% hand made hard cider, an alcoholic beverage made through fermentation of apple cider.

So, we have a iBook G4 that was dropped on concrete (walking to the card ) and when we sent it
in, even though we had apple care, they said it would cost 800 dollars to repair! I was wondering
if there was any DIY solution to this.

Florin made a giant TV-B-Gone... 48 IR
LEDs and an ATmega8 that sends the signals to the LEDs. Source code and schematics included. He
writes -
I arranged the LED’s in 4 rows of 12 pieces and the resistors fit quite nicely between the
LED’s. I used four BD139 NPN transistors to drive the rows. It took me hours to drill and
then solder this board(48 LED’s and 48 resistors mean 192 holes plus the other parts). The
controller board contains an ATmega8 chosen because of it’s 8k memory needed to store all
the codes, an 8 MHz crystal, an LED, a tact switch and some resistors and capacitors. I designed
the board so that it can also be used for other projects.

Well if not hell maybe just from that creepy dark crawl space in your house. You know the
one..Anyway most scarecrows are smiling buffoons who can barely scare away crows much less people
but not this guy. Here
is a quick list of what you will need straight from our new friend over at Spooky Blue:
Grape vines
Large plastic cauldron
Newspaper, paper towels, duct tape, some scratchy rope, an 8' 1x2 (or some sturdy post), and
latex carpet adhesive
An old lamp, and lots of black or gray cloth.
