So, I have this awesome Mac Pro now and I have to use Windows to watch DVD's.
Play a DVD in Front Row, within 10 minutes, the computer hard locks. Watch the same DVD with the
Apple DVD player, it will go a bit longer prior to locking up. Run the Tech Tool to check out
memory and the whole system passes which of course doesn't mean there isn't a problem.
So, I switch to Vista 64 and watch DVD's for as long as I want. Now in Leopard there have been no
issues other than the system feels slower than it does in Vista.
One other thing I have noticed is Vista 64 will really swell up it's memory footprint when you have
boatloads of memory installed which really helps in the how it feels department. No disk noise at
all, just smooth as glass and fast as hell.
Since Apple doesn't believe in driver downloads like the rest of the world anybody have ideas on
how to troubleshoot this in Leopard? As stated, works perfectly in Vista, goes belly up in Leopard.
Have checked connections (just for giggles) and even tried a different drive, same result.

Ok, so I have a new flat screen TV and I don't have a dvd player. So I'd like to run shows that I
have bought on iTunes, movies I play in my DVD player and a few things I found randomly online that
I play through VLC player onto my flat screen tv.
Is there a specific cord or cable? Or is it different for any number of configurations. I've got a
G4 powerbook that I use sometimes, but most everything will run through my Macbook (white one, 2
years old).
I've been searching for a real answer for a while and can't find one.

I have a few avi files where the audio plays about half a second ahead of the video.
Is there a good (reasonably non-complex) way to fix this under Leopard? An app or something?
I want to fix them permanently, not just for computer playback. I would like to be able to burn
them to disc and watch them on my DVD player.
I know that it is possible to set delays in the playback in VLC and other programs, but I am not
looking to fix the videos for watching on the computer.
Thanks for any help.

pimg src="http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/4/2008/05/thumb160x_blux360.jpg" Despite Microsoft
denying any plans to develop a Blu-Ray drive for the Xbox 360 at least a million times now, rumors
are surfacing that the company's already made one and just needs to decide on a release date. If
X-bit Labs is to be believed, a joint-venture between Toshiba and Samsung has been contracted to
manufacture external Blu-ray disc drives for Microsoft's game console. According to their market
sources, the company is aiming at a $100 to $150 price point in order to compete with the
PlayStation 3. /p pReally... Toshiba? That should already tip this off to be unreliable,
considering Toshiba still a

stopped licking its wounds/a from its devastating loss in the format war. While the manufacturer
being a joint venture makes it slightly more credulous, it's still hard to swallow. [a
