In February I bought a MBP 2.4GhZ, 160GB HD, 2 GB RAM.....I bought to make a fairly involved movie that I am making.

I am about half way through and all of a sudden it started getting REAL slow on me....almost unusable...renderings take way too long, even moving along the timeline takes a while....this wasn't the case for the first 5 months, but all of a sudden...

I noticed my HS space is down to 40 GB from 160GB...Is this the reason? Additionally, what are some solutions to the problem?

Will buying an external hard drive and storing all files on there free up enough space to make it run smoothly again?

Help!

you had these options(this is for a buddy-he can't decide). I'm sorry if this question has been asked, but I'm trying to be specific and I didn't find it in search. Also I know it depends on what my friend would use it for, but throw that out the window and just assume you want the best system for the money. Here are the details. Thanks.

Han tardado mucho más de lo esperado, pero ya tenemos a la venta en España los modelos del ultraportátil Asus Eee con pantalla de 8.9 y 10 pulgadas. Llegan tarde pero al mismo tiempo en el momento justo para competir con el Acer Aspire One y el modelo de Dell y HP que saldrán a la venta en las próximas semanas.

El Asus Eee de 8.9 pulgadas, denominado Eee PC 901 llega con SSD de hasta 20 GB con un precio de 400 euros. Se pone a la venta el próximo 25 de agosto en versiones con Linux y XP. En cuanto al modelo de 10 pulgadas, Eee PC 100H, con 160 GB de disco duro tradicional, lo hará en septiembre, con Windows XP y precio de 449 euros.

Además, los usuarios de Eee PC podrán disponer de 20 GB de almacenamiento extra por Internet, a través del servicio Eee Storage.

Los dos equipos vienen con blueotooth, WiFi 802.11n, webcam de 1.3 megapíxeles y el procesador Intel Atom.

Más específico del modelo Eee PC901 es su memoria RAM de 1 GB y el SSD de 12 GB para la versión con XP y 20 GB para la de Linux. Con un peso de 1.1 kg y dimensiones de 225x125.5x22 mm, el precio de los dos modelos será el mismo. Si escogemos Linux podremos disponer de mayor espacio en disco.

El modelo Eee PC 1000H, que mide 266x191.2x28.5 mm, y pesa casi 1.5 kg, lo que lo hace menos ultraportátil. Personalmente, con 10 pulgadas de pantalla esa ultraportabilidad se pierte un poco. Este modelo, que costará 450 euros, vendrá con 2 GB de RAM DDR2, disco duro tradicional de 160 GB (para los que quieren mucho espacio en disco) y solo se pondrá a la venta en la versión con Windows XP.

También se empieza a ofrecer en España el Eee Storage, con 20 GB de espacio web para los dueños de un Asus Eee. El límite de descarga por día es de 5 GB.

Asus también hace hincapié en la tecnología Super Hybrid Engine, que aumenta la autonomía de hasta 7.8 horas si usamos el modelos 901 y hasta 7 en el de mayor tamaño. Esto lo conseguimos ajustando el rendimiento y modo de ahorro de energía, y con la batería de 6 celdas que viene con los equipos en España.

Hello! I recently bought a new Asus Hd4870 graphics card to replace my old Radeon 1950pro card. And I failed this simple mission misserably it seems. Because when I have installed the card and boot up the computer, the screen just freezes anywhere and makes me have to hard reboot it. Doesn't matter where I go, it freezes in the bios, at the boot screen, at the windows logo, in windows if I happen to get that far (rarely) and pretty much every other screen I can think of.

When I switch back to my old Radeon 1950pro I get no freezes whatsoever. Everything runs stable. But I want to use my new card! ;) I also tried using two different memory sets to rule the problem of memory faults out. No difference in results.

So, I've tried searching the net for answers. But I can't find anything regarding freezes during any phase of the computer start. I've also tried running the computer with open sides and blowing cold air into it but that also froze. I've upgraded my PSU to a Corsair HX520 since it was one of the recommended on the ATI site. I'm starting to give up now and wondering if I should return my Hd4870...but there has to be some way to get it working...right?

Maybe I should replace my motherboard and processor? Maybe its not good enough for todays graphic cards? Its about one year old. Gaah I dont know what to do...But Im willing to replace anything possible.

This is whats in my computer so far:

When I installed CS 2.3 Premium, I deleted Acrobat 7 Pro and Acrobat Distiller 7 because there was an upgrade disk in the suite, Acrobat 8 Pro.

I'm running OS X 10.3.9 (Panther) and neglected to read the system requirements before deleting Acrobat 7, and Acrobat 8 won't run on anything below 10.4.3. The installation disk won't allow me access to do a custom install for Acrobat 7 (after entering my admin. password, I get the message: The application Adobe Installer has unexpectedly quit.)

Can I reinstall Acrobat 7 without moving the entire Suite to the trash as described in the Adobe CS "Read Me First" file? If I must do this, will I have the same problems accessing the installer that I'm seeing now? (or is that due to the fact the the Suite is already installed, so the installer already sees a current user?)

I've done a lot of Web searches, but couldn't find this specific issue anywhere. I've also read quite a few horror stories of reinstalls and valid serials numbers not being recognized.

Yeah, I know I could upgrade to 10.4, but everything else in the Suite is working great so far - I've heard that sometimes system upgrades can cause weird glitches.

Help or feedback, please!

(I have a G4 450 Sawtooth, 1.75 GB memory and 128G hard drive.)

INTEL DEVELOPER FORUM is usually THE event for all the Intel-related standard setting groups to announce the major updates to their specs. SATA-IO group, overseeing the now dominant same-named serial storage interface, has toed the line too announcing the new SATA 3.0 spec, to be completed later this year....

A pesar de que Intel ya ha anunciado la tercera generación de su Classmate, no se ha olvidado de la, todavía vigente, segunda generación, con una nueva versión, presentada en el IDF, de este ultraportátil.

Sigue estando enfocada a estudiantes, más aún si cabe que las anteriores. El que se convierta en un Tablet PC no es por capricho. Según se ha estudiado, el tener el portátil sobre la mesa hacía que la visión entre los estudiantes y los profesores no fuera suficientemente buena. Usándolo en modo Tablet PC este “bloqueo” entre ambos desaparece.

Como no podía ser de otro modo, este Intel Classmate ya viene con los procesadores Atom, concretamente con el N270 a 1.6 GHz. Su pantalla es de 8.9 pulgadas y ofrece una resolución de 1024 x 600 píxeles. Su disco es SSD, aunque no han especificado la capacidad, que imaginamos rondará entre los 4 y los 8 GB.

De todos modos, y aunque Intel no lo ponga a la venta directamente, seguro que es posible encontrarlo con otro nombre en distribuidores como Amazon, al igual que ya ha pasado con los modelos anteriores. Habrá que esperar al precio para ver si es una alternativa válida a otros ultraportátiles, genero en el cual las pantallas táctiles no destacan demasiado por su presencia.

I've ordered my SwitchEasy Rebel Arctic case, am ordering a custom skin from UniqueSkins tomorrow, and plan on getting a Power Support Crystal screen protector at the Apple store, but before I get the iPhone I just want to make sure nothing is probably coming out soon. I won't die if I don't get the iPhone now, I do need one by 9-25 though. Apple usually comes out with (or upgrades) products in early Sept. Do you think I should wait a week or two, just in case they come out with a 32 gb iPhone (which would make my life a lot easier, I'm having to keep less than half of my music of the phone)?

I am selling a 2g iphone 16 gb because I just received my new 3g Iphone from Italy.

This phone is like new and is less than 2 months old. Has been in a case and has had a screensaver on it from day one.

There are no marks just some small ware marks from sliding in and out of the case.

The Iphone is UNLOCKED and everything works fine. also has been jialbroken with Installer and Cydia on it and working.
