Even if you're rocking your AIM account through a href="http://digsby.com"Digsby/a, a href="http://pidgin.im"Pidgin/a, or another multi-protocol client, you'll get a new Buddy List name that serves as a marker for sending out group messages. Users have to be invited and accept to get your messages, and the group creator decides whether the message recipients can see who else is in the group, and whether replies go direct to them or the whole group. Hello, I am long time lurker but first time poster.

I am a senior MS tech who only dabbles with MACs. I have an issue with my MAC at home that I haven't been able to resolve. I am hoping someone can steer me in the right direction.

iChat (using to connect to AIM) isn't displaying text on IM sessions. I can send an IM, it will be received on the other end but I can't get any IMs back nor will my IMs be shown in the IM session.

I have done some first level troubleshooting. Tracked changes on the laptop, nothing correlates to when the problem first started. Forced a software update, no luck. Rebooted, no luck.

Any suggestions?
