Meebo has just released an update to its native iPhone instant messaging application adding support
for sending and receive photos via any IM network. Meebo 1.2 allows users to send photos from the
device’s photo library or take new pictures with the iPhone camera directly within the app.
Received photos can be saved to the iPhone Camera Roll or iPod touch Saved Photos album. The new
version also allows users to IM people outside of their buddy...
Apple's iPhone App Store is still crushing its peers, especially in the number of applications
available to consumers.
Mobile apps have been around for years, but Apple was the first to make them popular with normal
people. Now everyone else in the mobile industry is struggling to catch up, and it's been a big
advantage for Apple's iPhone and iPod touch. (And, coming soon, the
iPad.)
Of all the iPod docks I’ve come across (and I’ve seen a lot), this one is now my all
time favorite. It’s the most interesting one I’ve looked over, without
it being a cheap novelty device. This would be great for anyone that enjoys the
industrial look or just wants something new that stands out from the rest of their
electronics. Plus, for being a dock, it’s somewhat budget friendly.
This whole thing was created using parts found in a second hand hardware store.Â
Being from used parts, it gives the dock an extremely unique look. Even if the
creator were to make several, none of them could ever be exactly alike. The dock is
compatible with all sorts of different iPods and all of the iPhones. It’ll
even work with the iPod shuffle, which is a rare thing to find. You can purchase the
double sided dock for $95 through Etsy.
Boy, is that one of the longest product names that we've come across so far - the iHome iP39
Kitchen Timer and FM Alarm Clock Radio Speaker System for iPhone/iPod. As though there isn't
enough iPod or iPhone speaker docks to go around already, iHome adds to the crowd with the iP39,
where it comes in a mixture of stainless steel and black, enabling it to fit into most modern
homes without looking like an eyesore. You have dual alarms that allow you to wake up to your
favorite tunes on your iPod or subject your ears to the random tunes of the local radio station
via its FM radio. Apart from that, dual kitchen timers help you keep track of two dishes
simultaneously, ensuring your guests do not end up with a burnt lunch. Would you fork out $99.99
for the iP39?
iPod docks are in everything these days, but this leather sectional from Natuzzi actually makes a
bit of sense. Think about it. You and yours are chillaxing on the couch after a hard day working
for the man. You want nothing more than some relaxing tunes from the Manilow, but the music is
stuck on your iPhone and the dock is all the way on the other side of the room. But no worries,
you have the Surround sofa so you slap your iPhone in the dock and suddenly you’re drifting
off to Looks Like We Made It. Ah, life is good.

The first time you walk into an Apple
Store and pick up an iPad, you’ll understand the hype: Apple has managed to create a
beautiful, thoughtfully designed, compelling product in a space where mediocrity was, until now,
status quo. But odds are you probably won’t buy one — at least not yet.
And that’s OK.
For despite the high level of anticipation
for and proclamations
associated with the
launch of the Apple device, the fact remains that outside of a few select vertical uses (like
medicine), tablets are constrained by their own form factor, stuck in the nether realm between
productivity and portability. Standing onstage during the device’s unveiling, Steve Jobs
himself posed a question that acutely underscores the tablet dilemma: Is there room for a
third category of product that sits between your two most essential devices, the laptop and
phone? As much as I’m looking forward to the iPad, I’m still not sure there is.
To date, no one’s been able to scale tablets as a core personal computing product, though
it’s certainly not for lack of effort. Just about every player in the electronics world has
given tablets a go, from Nokia with its Maemo-based N-series Internet communicators to Dell with
its Android-based mini-slates to all manner of Windows-based convertible and slate tablet PCs.
But the problem with all of them — and the iPad may also be included
— isn’t that they’ve been unable to offer fundamentally
differentiated experiences from the devices we already own and carry.
Think back to the iPod — before it existed, there wasn’t such a thing as
taking your entire music (and eventually, video) library with you wherever you went. But the
concept proved to be so elemental that it transcended the iPod as a device, and became a staple
in nearly every product Apple makes, from iTunes on the Mac to the iPhone. In his iPad launch
presentation, Jobs seemed pretty clear about the fact that the iPad won’t replace your
phone or laptop (at least not any time soon), and yet Apple has still been deficient in
demonstrating more than scaled-up iPhone experiences (like browsing, light email, and gaming) or
scaled-down desktop experiences (like iWork).
Of course, it would be a failure of imagination to assume there won’t eventually be
something built on the iPad platform that simply couldn’t be hosted on a phone or laptop.
But so far Apple hasn’t shown it to us, which may be why so many are still lukewarm on the
device’s prospects. This also might be why iBooks was January’s dark horse
announcement — it was the only app Apple showed off that seems to call out for the iPad by
name. But long-form reading is still arguably better suited to devices like the Kindle and Nook,
which benefit from E Ink displays, while shorter-form media (namely periodicals) went all but
ignored by Apple, which punted to publication-specific apps like the New York Times reader. Had
Apple attempted to create a new, ubiquitous, standard format for magazines and newspapers, and
leveraged its sales infrastructure for subscription content, the iPad might have been hailed as
the iPod of publishing.
There’s no question Apple has (re)defined the tablet dialog and raised the bar for the
space moving forward. For browsing the web, the iPad experience is second to none; the product
itself almost seems to melt away, leaving the user to feel as though they’re literally
reaching in and touching the content. And by the time the iPad’s price drops in a year or
two, Apple may be able to parlay a groundbreaking product into a market leadership position. But
in the mean time, the countdown to launch has begun and Cupertino’s set its sights on
building yet another market, we’ll have to see just how many people are ready to put their
money where Apple’s tablet is.

Can’t you see this little iPod dock
sitting next to your coffee bean grinder and spice rack? It sure looks the part with stanless
steel-looking corners and a sort-of utilitarian design theme. Oh yeah, you know you wanna make
room on your kitchen counter for the iP39SZC — catchy name, eh?
The dock is kitchen ready with a easy-to-clean surface, two indepented timers, and and a
convenount iPod/iPhone dock. There’s even a remote and USB port for charging other devices
as well. $99 and available now. via

The Zune HD’s price keeps dropping and
dropping. No matter. It’s a killer media device and well worth your money if you
don’t mind forgoing the App Store that’s available on the competing iPod touch. Dell Home currently has it up for
$240, which is the lowest price we’ve seen from a reputable retailer yet. Who knows how
long it will be that low, though, so you better direct your web browser over to the site and
snatch up the deal while it’s still available. [Dell

iPod.iTunes 4.4.7iPod.iTunes does real add-synchronization, even in two directions
if desired.
iPod.iTunes evaluates the source for songs, videos and/or playlists that are not in the target
and only adds these seamlessly, avoiding duplicates, saving your time.
Unlike iTunes' own synchronization iPod.iTunes generally does not delete content in the target.
iPod.iTunes can also transfer song dependent data like "My Rating", "Last Played", "Play Count",
album artwork, etc.
WHAT'S NEWVersion 4.4.7:
Fixed a problem where copying ~5000+ files at once could go slower and slower.
Laminar Research has released an update to its series of X-Plane flight simulator apps for the
iPhone and iPod touch. The update adds a replay mode that is activated when the app is paused to
allow users to view the last few minutes of their flight and provides higher-resolution maps,
complete with buildings and airport runways. Other new features include new paint and increased
detail for many of the aircraft, a more detailed lighting and fog model...

Blackberry bold 9000 / xbox 360 / Sony ps3 / Sony psp.

Rockstar Games doesn't do anything half-way, and the first iPhone version of its Grand Theft Auto
series is no exception. The game for the iPhone and iPod touch is a big, ugly, raw title that's
huge in scale and depth.
Still well below most people’s radar, the company raised $24 million in venture capital and recently released
its first app for the iPhone after nearly a
year of development.
But that doesn’t mean the startup has a lack of ambition: they’ve just hired Gummi Hafsteinsson, who has led several of Google’s
most successful mobile product initiatives as Senior Product Manager for the past 5 years, as
their new VP of Product. Hafsteinsson originally joined Google’s mobile group in July 2005
and first managed the Google Maps for Mobile product.
More recently, he led development of Google’s voice-powered search
app for all the major mobile platforms – iPhone, Android, Blackberry and Symbian. He
reported directly to Vic Gundotra,
Google’s VP of Engineering.
Prior to joining Google, Gummi founded and ran a company called Dimon Software that produced
mobile enterprise connectivity software designed to enable enterprises to access corporate IT
systems from any mobile device.
His experience in developing scalable applications for multiple platforms tells us Siri is
working on making its virtual personal assistant product cross-platform. Its proposition was
compelling enough to bring home the award for
most innovative Web service at the Microsoft BizSpark
Accelerator at SXSW, by the way.
In other news, Siri is now available for
iPod touch devices, integrated Twitter into
the service last week and is closing in on a quarter million early users.
