im new here so i hope i can ask my question here...
I have a macbookpro 2Ghz, 2gb, Core Duo with ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 with 128MB
and i just downloaded gta san andreas for osx, the game starts good but when i play its just a strange view. (see pic)
Is it due to my grafic card? cause i dont have a clue what the cause might be...:confused:

I am going to buy macbookpro next week or after that I have heard Apple will have Black Friday. I am thinking about order to Macmall that it will be possible Macmall 150 dollars rebate and plus Apple Rebate 150 dollars which will save me some money. Or order direct to Apple to get 150 dollars off. Do you know when it will happen? Any one done that in past?

I have decided to make the decision to purchase my first mac and I would like some expert help in choosing. My primary use for it would be web developing by means of the adobe suite and coda.

I'm using a MacBook Pro 2.4 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo (System 10.5.5) and am having a particular problem connecting to an important network at my school. I can connect to just about any other open network except for this one.

The modems are in the classrooms, and so signal strength is not a problem. I can see the signal strength in the horizontal top bar, but when I log on to the network with my appropriate protocol, the Airport card seems to misinterpret the fact that I've requested 802.1X WEP. The software records that choice in the Preferred networks list, but the school's network person is seeing a different protocol at her end when she looks at my login attempts in her log. Does anyone know what's going on?

She writes:
"I’ve just been told that our logs indicate you’re trying to authenticate via EAP-TLS or PEAP, not 802.1x WEP or LEAP."

I'm not even sure I've ever been given LEAP as a choice on my MacBookPro. Does anyone know if I can find it and downlaod it in case it would solve this problem? Any other advice?

but i was wondering how is the gaming on it? i heard if u use boot camp and load xp on it the gaming is just as good as any other comp.
right now i use a hp pavillion dv6000 with 1.85mhz cpu, windows vista, 2gb ram, Nvidia GeForce Go 7400 graphics, and a 160gb @ 5400 RPM HD. gaming for me is a no go, the graphic card cant handle it *crys* (i bought the comp for gaming too.... what a waste :'( *shoots self*) but anyways i plan on buying the macbookPro 15in screen, 2.53mhz cpu, OSX (and ill put xp or vista on it as well), 4gb ram, and 350GB @ 7200RPM, i want to be able to play COD4 at least :( will it work any well?

*off topic questions
-is the screen glare really that bad? i live in dubai so theres always sun =P are their any good solutions yet?
-is the 350GB @ 7400 RPM that much better then the 350@5400? i heard its hotter and louder, but the battery usage isnt that bad..

i know its possible to play divx from apple tv's internal storage using hacks.... but basically, i want to transfer all of my divx movies from my macbookpro to my external hard drive, and then connect my external hard drive to the apple tv, and then play divx movies from my external hard drive via apple tv.

also, i plan on getting the 40gb version and using apple tv's 40gb storage solely for mp3s, and then putting divx movies on the external hard drive.
