Une chose est sure, le Quinze de France a d'ores et déjà remporté le Tournoi
des Six Nations. Mais les Bleus veulent beaucoup plus et visent le neuvième Grand Chelem de
son histoire. Il devra passer par une cinquième victoire, samedi soir au Stade de France
(20h45), face à l'Angleterre qui a si souvent brisé les rêves tricolores. Ce
match n'est peut-être pas le plus difficile mais c'est d'évidence un piège tant
l'Angleterre a toujours su faire barrages aux ambitions françaises. Ce fût le cas en
demi-finale des Coupes du monde 2003 et 2007 ou encore, l'an passé, à Twickenham.
En attendant les matchs de Bordeaux et de Montpellier dimanche, Auxerre a pris les commandes du
championnat samedi en dominant, dans les arrêts de jeu, Le Mans (2-1) à domicile pour
le compte de la 29ème journée de L1. Avec 55 points, les Bourguignons prenent deux
longueurs d'avance sur les Girondins et les Héraultais. Dans les autres rencontres de la
soirée, Rennes étrille Toulouse (3-1), le PSG à Nice et à huis-clos,
s'incline une nouvelle fois malgré un bon match(1-0), Boulogne s'offre de l'espoir en
battant Lorient (2-0) alors que Saint-Etienne stagne face à Nancy (0-0) et que Grenoble
tient en échec Monaco au stade des Alpes. Dimanche, deux chocs en perspective avec, à
17h, Bordeaux - Lille (ainsi que Montpellier -VA) et surtout à 21h avec le match des
olympiques entre l'OM et l'OL au stade Vélodrome.

won in most of those elections. However, the victory of the party in power wasn't absolute: in
Irkutsk people preferred opposition candidate Viktor Kondrashov but this was the only case.
Despite the increasing wave of protests (like in Irkutsk [RUS] itself,
Kaliningrad, Moscow and others), “United Russia” managed to keep its dominance in
all Russian regional legislatures as well as city administration offices.
One of the secrets of such “political stability” (besides state-controlled mass
media) is a range of alleged numerous fraud techniques used both by party members and public
officials during the elections. These elections were the first to show the power of Web 2.0. in
uncovering them. Bloggers gathered evidence of fraud with their cell phone cameras and published
them online.

“Golos” [EN] (”A Voice”) were quite active in promoting election
transparency and exposing fraud. The association installed a fraud hotline website
“88003333350.ru” where everyone could post a
fraud report. So far, 561 fraud cases have been noted.

inviting people to vote by using a phone line and without signing any papers (which is illegal).

In the video below two women confess they were brought to the election station to vote for their
parents (probably unable to get to the election station by themselves). Such procedure is legal
if a person possesses an absentee ballot. But these two women, as well as the whole bus (can be
seen on the background) of their “colleagues,” do not have it. And still they're
allowed to vote. Not to mention that their transfer was paid by the regional government, as well
as a sightseeing excursion after the election.

The most popular fraud technique is a directed at a preliminary vote. It's been practiced among
soldiers, policemen and sometimes students. In other words, regional authorities try to mobilize
as many people as they can, especially if they have channels of pressure. For students such
channel of pressure are various: grades, scholarships, ability to passing an exams, etc.

All these cases represent current situation with the Russian electoral system. The dominance of
the ruling party is based on numerous illegal actions that result in the “expected”
election results. At the same time, it shows the weakness of the political system that fails to
conduct its political course without such anti-democratic and unlawful measures. But as the
bloggers become more and more powerful and as the evidence of the fraud is being more efficiently
distributed among Russian netizens, the government's failure to provide free and fair elections
can become a real, not virtual, problem.

Le Pays de Galles n'a laissé aucune chance à l'Italie, samedi au Millenium de
Cardiff, lors de la 5e et dernière journée du tournoi des VI Nations (33-10). Une
rencontre totalement maîtrisée par les hommes de Warren Gatland qui ont inscrit 3
essais par Hook à deux reprises et Shane Williams. Les Italiens gaillards en défense
mais trop faible offensivement pour contester la suprématie galloise ont tout de même
sauvé l'honneur en fin de match.
Iain Dowie coined the term bouncebackability, but he did not want to see a demonstration here, as
Hull appeared on course for the first away win in over a year, only to lose thanks to two
Portsmouth goals in the dying minutes. Dowie's appointment was not popular, but it was beginning
to look inspired as both Hull goals were scored by Caleb Folan, a player who had not appeared for
the club since August.
Both sides began tenaciously, but it was the visitors who forced the first chance. Kevin Kilbane,
another player recalled to the starting line-up by Dowie, chipped a dainty cross to the back post
for Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink in the fourth minute. The Dutchman leapt well and directed his
header towards the other corner, only for it to bounce out off the upright.
Three minutes later Portsmouth came close, Marc Wilson curling a free-kick fractionally wide from
25 yards. Goalmouth action then dried up for a while, as both sides betrayed a stark lack of
creative quality, although it did remain an intensely contested game.
Wilson fired another shot just wide in the 23rd minute and Nadir Belhadj did likewise moments
later. The fact that Portsmouth were restricted to long-range attempts would have pleased Dowie,
who has made it clear that shoring up Hull's defence – the most porous in the
league – is a prerequisite for survival. In the 27th minute the new boss's
mood was lifted even higher, when a Jimmy Bullard corner was cleared to the edge of the area and
Craig Fagan cracked a hopeful low shot goalwards. It skimmed through a slew of players and into
the net via a slight touch from Folan, who scored his first goal in a year and a half.
Now it was Portsmouth who had to show that quality famously extolled by Dowie. And they did so,
equalising within 10 minutes. This goal also came from a corner and was as messy as Hull's had
been. Frédéric Piquionne rose highest at the back post to head down Jamie O'Hara's
delivery, and Tommy Smith scuffed the bouncing ball into the net from close range.
Thereafter the skirmishing resumed, Hull's Bullard seemingly the only player capable of injecting
occasional class. His visionary range of passing meant Hull continued to carry a threat even if
the match was mostly scrappy. It was after a move orchestrated by Bullard in the 41st minute that
Dean Marney fired just wide from the edge of the penalty area.
Portsmouth improved in the second half as Wilson, deployed in midfield rather than his customary
centre-back position, grew in influence. Boaz Myhill was seldom troubled, however, due to a
combination of Pompey's haplessness around the area and determined defending by Hull, as
exemplified by a Paul McShane block on a Smith shot in the 61st minute.
In the 70th minute Dowie introduced Richard Garcia for Vennegor of Hesselink and that proved
judicious, as within three minutes the new arrival split the Pompey defence with a pass, leaving
Folan to slot the ball past the out-rushing James.
In the 90th minute O'Hara curled in a free-kick from the edge of the area, and fewer than 60
seconds later Belhadj broke down the left and crossed to Nwankwo Kanu, who shot into the net from
eight yards.
