I'm working on something where the app will fetch data from a URL and populate a table with the results. I'm trying to get it to fetch if the app is open at an interval (say every 10 minutes for this example). I have that all setup using an NSTimer and it works. My issue is memory. I'm not sure what I should be releasing or reallocating and when. On my dev phone I installed the program, opened it up, and just let it run. After a while (hours) it crashes, I'm assuming out of memory (didn't check the log yet, I had to leave and I don't have access to the phone or XCode until later today). The current flow is:

Open app->makes request->parses response->populates table.

Every 10 minutes it will remake the request->parse response->populate table if response is different.

I'm assuming I'm missing something very simple? Are there any Apple provided examples that do something similar that I missed?

Hi.
Currently, all of the photos I've taken with my iPhone are in the one default album, Camera Roll. I would like to create new photo albums and move photos from the Camera Roll album into the new ones I create.

But like the comments say, there seems to be a missing first step, because I do not see an add button.

Someone told me to create new folders in the folder on my computer with which I sync in iTunes and it will use those folder names for new album names. So I made a folder called iPhone Photos and in there I created a folder called Camera Roll along with a few others that I would like to be the new albums. But when it syncs, nothing changes. It doesn't put the photos in the Camera Roll folder on my computer nor does it create new folders on the iPhone. I read elsewhere that the folders must contain photos for it to create them on the iPhone. But I don't even know how to get my photos off the iPhone, which I guess is another issue.

I feel silly because I feel this should be something simple. Maybe I missing something obvious. :p

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I'm not wanting to start a flame war here, but I'm just wondering if anyone agrees with me that the PS3 graphics seem to be....missing something.

My flatmate has just got Resistance 2 and I've been watching him play it- it all seems blurry, lacking in contrast and generally boring. I'm pretty sure it's not the TV as my 360 looks amazing on the same settings.

Anyway, back to Resistance. He's playing through the first (or second) level in the jungle, and there is a firefight going on around some trucks and cars- everything just looks really bland. The textures look naff, the shadows look naff, it just looks...naff. The red truck for example- no kind of reflections off the paint work, the windscreen looks like something from a 1990's game. Has anyone else noticed this?

If you think about how much better looking games like Halo and Gears 2 is, I can't really find any excuses for the developers!

It seems to be the way with most PS3 games as well- they just seem to be missing something. I head straight to the 360 for any multiplat games.

Like I said, please don't take this as a flame war- a discussion about graphics is all I was after :)

Hello everyone. I recently got Kalyway 10.5.2 to work on one of my Pavilion single core AMD machines (with working internet, graphics card, sound... the whole works). Now I am trying my dual core Intel Pavilion and it will not cooperate. I thought Intel was supposed to be easier. :fail

I tried here and here for guidance but I still have not had any luck.

I have updated the BIOS and tried to set it up according to the guides above and I haven't had luck. One interesting note... I set my SATA Controller Mode to AHCI... but when I boot back up it is in RAID again. Should it be resetting itself or is this one of my problems?

I've tried both Kalyway 10.5.2 and iDeneb 10.5.5.

Kalyway boots and immediately gives me the No Go :mad: screen:


iDeneb will actually go through the paces of installing and then I get the No Go :mad: screen after restart.

Am I missing something big? I noticed that neither of the guides I used have info on picking a chipset. I tried the ICHx driver just in case but that didn't work either. I think all of the others(AppleNForceATA, AppleNForceATA Test, MCP67, ICHx Fixed, JMicronATA, SAS, SiliconImage, VIA-SB)are just chipsets from other manufacturers, right? Do I need to find one with G33 chipset support?

I have tried so many things that I can't remember if I have already tried, but would the SSE3 Intel Kernel have a better chance of working than the Vanilla Kernel that the guides suggest?

I am going to try Jas 10.5.4 shortly and I will update if that does any better.

Anyone have any ideas at all? Anyone have success with a similar setup? Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to give.
