Angry Nemanja "Paddy Power are offering 20-1 on Vidic being sent off today,"
tinkles Kevin Wilson. "The most attractive bet in history?" I don't know Kevin - you would have
thought given his previous that it would take quite something to provoke him into the same sort
of mistake. That said if anyone has any suggestions for the Liverpool players I'm all ears. So
long as they're funny.
"This has been a good week for Liverpool," declares Jamie Redknapp in the Sky
Sports studio, choosing to focus rather more on the 4-1 win over last-placed Portsmouth on
Monday, and rather less on the fact Albert Riera called his own team a "sinking ship" and accused
Rafael Benítez of not listening to his players two days later.
Team news Sir Alex Ferguson reverts to a five-man midfield, with Dimitar
Berbatov back on the bench. Foolishly, he also includes Nemanja Vidic, who has now been sent off
three times in a row against Liverpool. Maxi Rodriguez replaces Ryan Babel for the visitors.
Man Utd: Van der Sar, Neville, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra, Valencia, Fletcher,
Carrick, Park, Nani, Rooney. Subs: Kuszczak, Berbatov, Giggs, Scholes, Rafael Da
Silva, Jonathan Evans, Obertan. Liverpool: Reina, Johnson, Carragher, Agger, Insua, Mascherano, Lucas, Kuyt,
Gerrard, Maxi, Torres. Subs: Cavalieri, Aquilani, Benayoun, Kyrgiakos, Babel,
Ngog, Kelly. Referee: Howard Webb (S Yorkshire)
Afternoon So, quite a big game this one. United can go back to the top of the
Premier League with a win, but equally Liverpool know that their hopes of grabbing a Champions
League berth are dangling by a thread. A victory here is imperative if they are to keep pace with
Tottenham, four points clear in fourth place having played the same number of games.
United will draw encouragement from both their recent form - they have won their last five games
in all competitions, scoring 13 goals - and the fact they haven't conceded at home since 12
December. The visitors will take heart from the fact they have not lost to United since March
2008 and last year won this fixture 4-1.
What price a repeat of that scoreline? 300-1, if you're betting with one of the bolder bookies. I
still wouldn't take those odds.
Right, I'm going to rustle up some team news, but if you're want to know exactly how today's game
could affect the overall standings, you can find out right now with our stats centre. We have also all today's fixtures in our
live score centre, as well.
Happy first
day of Spring, everyone! Let's all take a moment to bid farewell to Winter, unless you live in
certain parts of the Midwest, where Winter is apparently still all the
rage. While there's nothing inherently wrong with Winter, we feel it lacks the inherent
positivity of the current season. Also, Spring's associated with better stuff, such as Spring
cleaning, Spring break. Spring rolls, and, of course, Coily the Spring Sprite.

I timed this badly. I just finished looking over the 3.1
version of dotTrace and recommending it Monday when the 4.0 beta starts. I've been asked to look
it over also and now find that 4.0 doesn't seem to let me profile my unit tests. I can
launch the profiler on an application but not from the nUnit launcher of Resharper.
I tried Repair, then disabling the integratin and re-enabling it. The uninstalling and
reinstalling. Under all of thes options, there was never a dotTrace addin in VS2008s addin list
like there had been for 3.1.

Justin Bieber remains an immutable force of Twitter trend power, taking the top slot again for
the third week in a row. Tweeters also showed their love (and/or disdain) for a number of other
pop singers, and celebrated a few holidays this past week.
Thanks to our friends at What The Trend, we have yet another interesting stats-eye-view of the Twitterverse.
Because this is a topical list, hashtag memes and games have been omitted from the chart below.
Beyond Justin Bieber, Follow Friday, and Music Monday — the reigning trend champs —
St. Patrick’s Day made an appearance as people tweeted their revelry, and Lady Gaga crept
up on the list with the premiere of her new video on
Vevo and a tour in New Zealand.
The Jonas Brothers hung tight near the middle, while circle enthusiasts everywhere tweeted
vigorously about Pi Day on March 14th, spurred on no doubt by the charming Google doodle that commemorated the occasion.
If you own a TV or computer, you probably know that March Madness is upon us, and
bracket-related tweets have been flying around the web all week, landing the term at number
seven.
Rounding out the chart are two more singers who made some news this week. Demi Lovato, the 17
year old actress/singer, stirred some buzz with her admission that she’s dating a Jonas
Brother, and Chris Brown, the career-stunted R&B singer, reached out to his fans on the web
for some help on making a comeback.
Strangely, tweets about the ongoing South By Southwest
(SXSW) conference — one of the most talked about topics in tech and a favorite of the
Twitter community — did not reach critical mass to make this week’s list. This is
likely due to the lack of big announcements or product launches from the conference this year.

Twitter Topics section as well as read more about this past week’s trends on What The Trend.

Do you like Bravo? Sure you do. Well Bravo sure likes you and they want to give you a standard
Kindle (Kindle 2, not the DX) to one lucky commenter. How do you win? Well heck, I’m glad
you asked.
All you have to do is comment or retweet this post to the world. Either/or. It’s a random
thing, baby.
Why are they giving you a kindle? Here:
Bravo achieved major success in the digital sphere last year, and they broke new ground in social
media by creating the first ever virtual viewing party, a multiplatform, live viewing experience.
It allowed viewers to interact on social media outlets during their favorite show like
“Real Housewives of New York City” and “Top Chef.” The success of these
viewing parties attracted over 1 million page views, saw double-digit growth in audience
engagement, and created sponsorship opportunities for the network.
Now, Bravo plans on expanding on its success by creating weekly live viewing parties called the
Bravo Talk Bubble. The site, BravoTalkBubble.com,
launched on 3/18, and they will start the first viewing party on March 25 during a new episode of
“The Real Housewives of New York City”. They will also deploy an innovative, new
Twitter integration.
To help promote this Talk Bubble, we’re giving away ONE Kindle to your readers.
Fair enough, right? Who doesn’t want a Kindle? We’ll pick a winner on Monday at noon
New York Time.

Over the
past couple of years, Hyundai has been credited
as having some of the best marketing efforts of any automaker in the U.S. The executive most
credited with such programs as Hyundai's
Assurance program is Joel Ewanick. As vice-president of marketing at Hyundai Motor America, he
led the team that came up with ideas like Hyundai Assurance, which promises to continue making
payments or take a car back if a buyer loses his or her job.
Ewanick is now moving over to Nissan North
America where he will take on the same task for the Nissan division. Ewanick is replacing Christian
Meunier, who was recently appointed president of Nissan Brazil. Ewanick starts at Nissan on Monday
March 22, so prepare for some marketing magic out of Nissan's Tennessee headquarters shortly
thereafter if he does for Nissan what he did for his former employer.
The contest is a
promotion for American Express (disclosure: also a Mashable sponsor), asking users to
follow the credit card company on Twitter and then tweet “Hey @americanexpress I want to be
with Coco in (insert city from list below). Pick me! http://bit.ly/bEUqsh #amexConan.”
The winners – who will get two tickets for Conan shows in either New York,
Chicago, Dallas, San Francisco, or Los Angeles — will be selected at random from the tweets
sent out between now and 11:59pm ET on Monday.
American Express is sponsoring the tour, but this new twist on their promotion should give the
company an opportunity to gain thousands of followers in a hurry, assuming the Twittersphere is
still as crazy for Coco as they were when he signed up only a month ago.
Shanghai - Google (NASD:Â GOOG) may opt to exit the Chinese market on April 10, if a quote
from an unnamed sales agent for the company published in China Business News is to be believed, The
Wall Street Journal reported. "We've gotten news saying Google will leave China on April 10, but
this piece of news has not yet been confirmed by the Google side," the report in China Business
News reads, according to The Journal's translation.
Lt. Dan Choi spoke following his and Cpt. Jim Pietrangelo's court appearance in D.C. today. As I
mentioned earlier, both Choi and Pietrangelo pleaded 'not guilty' and opted for a trial rather
than to pay a fine. The trial will take place on April 26.
Said Choi, in part:
"There was no freer moment than being in that prison. It was freeing for me, and I thought of all
of the other people that were still trapped - that were still handcuffed and fettered in their
hearts. And we might have been caged up physically, but the message was very clear to all of the
people who think that equality can be purchased with a donation, or with a cocktail party, or
with tokens, that are serving in a public role. We are worth more than tokens. We have absolute
value. And when the person who is oppressed by his own country wants to find out how to get that
dignity back - being chained up and being arrested - that's how you get your dignity conferred
back upon you. And so I think that by actions, my call is to every leader - not just talking gay
leaders - I'm talking any leader who believes in America, and the promises of America can be
manifest. We're gonna do it again. And we're going to keep doing it until the promises are
manifest. And we will not stop. This is a very clear message to President Obama and any other
leader who supposes to talk for the American promise and the American people. We will not go
away."

"Apparently HRC is on lockdown, out of fear that gays civil rights advocate, angry at the
organization for providing cover for the President's and the Congress's in action on DADT and
ENDA, might try to stage a sit-in. I hear that even staff had to use key cards to get into the
building, as everything was locked up tight (normally the front door is open). Locking the
building down like the gay CTU is certainly one option. Another is simply doing your job. NB
"Inaction" is incorrect. The White House is quite literally not interested in doing DADT this
year. And HRC is publicly misleading the community about it. That's why Barney Frank had to come
out last Monday and ask the White House, publicly, to say that it wants DADT repealed this year."
It now seems all but official that Google (NSDQ: GOOG) will pull its search operations in China; Chinese media says Google will make an announcement Monday and the search engine could shut down
as soon as April 10.
The likely big winner in all of this: Baidu, which currently controls more than 50 percent of the
Chinese search market to Google’s roughly 30 percent. So, how much value may Google be
handing over to Baidu? (NSDQ: BIDU) One measure: In the two months since Google first issued its China
manifesto, Baidu has gained nearly $13 billion in market value (Its stock is up a whopping 42
percent, completely reversing a 10 percent drop during the prior two months). By contrast, Google
has lost about $7 billion in market value (its stock down nearly 7 percent), while the S&P
500 has been flat.
