uuntube
1.2
(KDE Other Utility)
uuntube is a simple GUI for the famous python script youtube-dl by Ricardo Garcia Gonzalez. uuntube
is written in Gambas language.
What can you do with uuntube?
Search for something on YouTube, download what you are interested in, and save the audio in *.wav
or *.ogg or *.mp3 format.
Also, you can save the video. Or simply, you can paste a video url to the search bar, press
'Search' button and the download automatically will start.
uuntube, unfortunately, has a lot of incredible dependencies:
1) Gambas2 (required)
2) lynx (required)
3) mplayer (required)
4) lame (optional)
5) oggenc (optional)
youtube-dl is not necessary, because uuntube uses a slightly modified version.
To compile uuntube just unpack the source package and then in the source directory run:
./compile-uuntube.sh or
sh ./compile-uuntube.sh
If everything went fine you'll have the executable uuntube.gambas. Copy it somewhere in your $PATH,
or type ./uuntube.gambas.
To download a video: double click or mouse right click on item.
Limits and features: no simultaneus downloads are allowed. Multiple searches are possible, as it is
possible to prelisten (this is u untube!) downloading or paused files. You can resume interrupted
downloads.
