Certes je défends la qualité et la tradition dans tout ce qui touche les produits alimentaires qui nous nourrissent mais pour autant je ne tire pas un trait sur ce que les sciences peuvent nous apporter tant en terme de garanties sanitaires qu'en possibilités d'aide et de développement pour nos producteurs.

En farfouillant, entre autre lectures, du côté de la Revue des Å’nologues et des rapports du Conseil Économique et Social j'ai pu me rendre compte de la révolution des nanotechnologie dans l'agroalimentaire. Là comme ailleurs on peut trouver le bon comme le mauvais mais il conviendra de ne pas jeter le bébé avec l'eau du bain.

Je me suis donc un peu intéressé à ces fameuses nanotechnologies appliquées entre autres choses au vin.

Dans le bon je place la détection du resvératol, la molécule du French Paradox
Qu'est-ce-que le resvératrol? C'est un dérivé phénolique présent dans les plantes.
Le resvératrol a plusieurs propriétés : il est antioxydant, antiagrégant plaquettaire, anti-inflammatoire, vasodilatateur et il inhibe la prolifération cellulaire. Il devrait presque être remboursé par la sécurité sociale.

Je place aussi dans le bon la détection des résidus de pesticides même si le bon sens nous dit qu'il y en aura forcément si on en emploie.

Encore le nettoyage ionique ou la protection sanitaire des cuves par des revêtements à base de dioxyde de titane afin de prévenir le développement de germes (processus nanotechnologie).

Dans le moins bon voir le franchement mauvais il y a l'usage de ces même nanotechnologies pour modifier les caractères organoleptiques du vin. En exagérant juste un peu cela permet de transformer une piquette en un simulacre de bon vin. Quid du travail du vigneron, de la science de celui ci si un laborantin peut par un tour de passe passe faire en sorte que de nano robots puissent aller tripatouiller le breuvage à volonté.

Encore une fois ce n'est pas la science qui est en cause mais l'usage qui en est fait.

Autre usage possibles et bénéfiques, c'est la détection de contrefaçon par l'analyse des bouteilles elles mêmes.
Cette technique s'appliquent aux très vieilles bouteilles de vin, Déjà par la mesure du cesium 137 on pouvait déterminer l'age du vin mais l'étude du rayonnement X après le passage des bouteilles sous un faisceau d'ions on pourra déterminer l'âge du verre et sa provenance et ainsi permettre d'authentifier le vin qu'elles contiennent.

Je n'ai mais abordé que quelques menus aspects de la question. Le sujet est très vaste, passionnant mais parfois difficile. Cependant je vous invite à vous y intéresser car il s'agit de notre futur tant au niveau de l'alimentation que dans beaucoup d'autres domaines.

I can't believe I bought this, I should've gone for the iphone 3G. My friend fooled me into thinking the ipod touch is like the iphone, but it isn't. It just has the same interface. I you want to download apps off of it, you need wifi. If you want to surf the web, you need wifi. If you want to watch youtube, you need wifi. You need wifi for EVERYTHING

And it's rather annoying because I travel outside of my house quite a bit. During those times, there is little or NO wifi available. When there is wifi, there is always a security key encryped into the wireless, and I can't access it. The only thing that i can do is probably listen to music (like any other ipod) and play a couple games. In that case I might as well have just gotten an ipod nano, or the ipod classic.

If I had the iPhone, I would be able to download apps, surf the web, download music, text people, call people, take pictures, and IM people! Well, without wifi on the ipod touch, guess what? You just left out ALL these features.

I also do not like the design of the ipod touch. In my opinion, it is WAY too thin, and the stainless steel is a bit annoying. When you hold it for a long time, the steel turns the ipod into a giant grease ball. I had to buy an extra grip that cost $30 just to solve this problem. By the way the grip is annoying too. When I put it in my pocket, it is extremely hard to take out, and when I take it out, it's got all this dust and lent stuck on it, and I have to rub it all off, which takes about 5 minutes, everytime I take it out of my pocket!!

Now that I wasted $230, I have no money to save up for the iPhone. I am getting probably $200 for christmas, but that is not enough. I have Sprint, I have a WHOLE year and a half left to go before my contract ends, and my parents aren't willing to cancel and get me the iphone. I have no job, I am 15. What should I do? I am stuck with this lent/grease attracting device that has almost no key features, and is just like any other iPod. Exept it's touch screen, and it's more expensive.

Not trying to start a war, I just feel like I had to type all my feelings out, alright? :p

I spend so much time getting all this nice album art for my iTunes library but when I sync my ipods (touch and nano), not all of the album art syncs. I didn't buy these songs off of iTunes so I needed to manually find the album arts that were missing. Does anybody know why some album art doesn't sync?

Right now I have the flu, so I have nothing better to do, here is what I think the iPod lineup should look like by fall 2009:

APPLE COMPLETE 2009 iPod Lineup:

I personally think they are going to get rid of the 8GB, and have three iPod Touch models:

iPod Touch: 16 GB - $149, 32 GB w/ camera - $249$, 64 GB w/ camera - $349

Basically the same iPod touch, with a camera built in, louder speakers, better battery life, more memory, cheaper, better 3D capabilities, and a more refined OS. The 16 GB iPod Touch will NOT have the camera.

Apple will then drop the iPod Nano, update the Classic but also make it so it can conveniently be used as an external hard drive for any Mac or PC. This would be perfect for the everyday college student who needs extra space but doesn't want to carry a hefty external hard drive and iPod with him, or the everyday business man working in a call center. Apple would of course have to make the iPod Classic software to make it be used as both an external hard drive and iPod conveniently. These are what the iPod Classic lineup should look like:

iPod Classic: 160 GB - $199, 320 GB - $299

Apple will also update the iPod Shuffle completely, and make it so that it has an easier interface, instead of constantly tapping the forward button to skip through a song, the person with the iPod Shuffle has the shuffle in his pocket, but also a little remote control piece that goes in his hand. The iPod shufle itself doesn't have any buttons, but the wireless controller does. The wireless controller if designed right can fit perfectly in one's hand and you control the iPod from there. This would be 10x more convenient for people running while using a shuffle or working out, what the shuffle is mainly manufactured for. Addition to this, when you aren't working out or whatever, you also can connect the wireless controller and iPod Shuffle itself together and use it like it has been previously. The iPod Shuffle would also come with bluetooth headphone capability.

iPod Shuffle: 4 GB - $59, 8 GB - $99

iPhone Lineup:

Apple will increase the battery life of the iPhone, a better camera, and the memory of the iPhone. It will also receive 4G if it is out then, and get a more refined OS along with the touch. Apple will also make it have even better 3D capabilities, and sign more companies to make games for the new Touch and iPhone for iTunes. Apple will also make it so that Flash is optional on the iPod Touch and iPhone. If you want better battery life, Flash would be turned off. This would also make it so game designers have more options. Apple's game designers will start to develop games that takes advantage of the iPhone and iPod Touch's better graphics capabilities, therefore some games will not be able to be played on 2G and 1G Touches and iPhones.

iPhone: 32 GB - $199, 64 GB - $299

Yet its still 'charging'. I've resetted the iPod to see if it makes a difference although its taking ages to charge up. Usually I get a 'charged' logo on my iPod 2G screen although its been showing the 'charging' status on the screen.

Is this a sign of my iPod dieing?

Aujourd’hui, c’est samedi et pour vous occuper, je vous propose une séance de travaux pratiques. Voici une bidouille à faire sous Linux qui vous permettra de déporter le cache de votre navigateur Firefox dans la RAM de votre ordinateur.

L’intérêt de la chose ? Accélérer la vitesse d’affichage des pages web dans Firefox et ainsi réduire les transferts via le disque. On gagne donc en rapidité et on n’entend plus son disque dur gratter comme un dingue lorsqu’on lance son Firefox.

Bien sûr certains diront que les gains sont minimaux car les disques durs sont rapides… Je pensais ça aussi et j’ai quand même essayé ma manip… Et bien, je peux vous le dire, sur mon PC en tout cas, c’est assez visible.

L’affichage des pages déjà en cache est instantanné et la LED de mon disque dur ne clignote plus

Le revers de la médaille qui a mon avis n’en est pas un, c’est qu’à chaque reboot, vous perdez complétement le contenu de votre cache (logique, c’est de la RAM -> mémoire vive). Mais finalement, ce n’est pas génant car au moins, on est sûr de ne pas avoir de trucs périmés en cache et pour la confidentialité du surf, c’est mieux.

Bref… On attaque ?

Mes manips sont réalisées sur Ubuntu donc gaffe si vous avez un autre OS, il faudra adapter… Mais c’est faisable aussi sur MacOS X (avec EspérenceDV)

Un disque virtuel en RAM, ça s’appelle un Ramdisk. On va donc définir la taille du ramdisk. Pour cela, on édite le fichier de Grub :

sudo nano /boot/grub/menu.lst

Vers la fin, vous devriez voir un truc comme ça :

title           Ubuntu 8.10, kernel 2.6.27-7-generic
root            (hd0,1)
kernel          /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.27-7-generic root=UUID=e428e3e0-7672-4a82-9f85-3c47c811c4a7 ro quiet splash
initrd          /boot/initrd.img-2.6.27-7-generic
quiet

On rajoute alors le paramètre ramdisk à la fin de la ligne kernel.

kernel          /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.27-7-generic root=UUID=e428e3e0-7672-4a82-9f85-3c47c811c4a7 ro quiet splash ramdisk_size=65536

65536 correspond à une taille d’environ 65 MB. 65 MB pour du cache, c’est largement suffisant, même pour un gros surfeur.

Sauvegardez le fichier (CTRL X), et mettez à jour grub :

sudo update-grubtitle

Et on reboote !!!

Ensuite, on va formater la RAM

mke2fs -m 0 /dev/ram0

On crée un répertoire de montage

sudo mkdir /media/ramdisk

et on monte le disque virtuel

sudo mount /dev/ram0 /media/ramdisk

Pour voir si ça a bien fonctionné, lancez la commande suivant pour voir le système de fichier en place (normalement ext2)

mount | grep ram0

et la commande suivante pour voir la taille de votre ramdisk

df -h | grep ram0

Si c’est tout bon, alors tant mieux ! On va pouvoir passer au script ! Il faut en effet mettre en place un script au démarrage de l’ordinateur car le disque en RAM est volatile. Il disparait à chaque reboot.

Créez donc un fichier /etc/init.d/mountram.sh

sudo nano /etc/init.d/mountram.sh

et rajoutez les lignes suivant à l’intérieur :

#! /bin/sh
/sbin/mke2fs -q -m 0 /dev/ram0
/bin/mount /dev/ram0 /media/ramdisk
/bin/chown manu:manu /media/ramdisk
/bin/chmod 777 /media/ramdisk
exit 0

La commande chown est utilisé pour vous donner les droits d’accès (user = manu / group = manu) et la commande chmod donne les droits d’écriture complet sur le ramdisk.

Rendez ensuite votre script exécutable :

sudo chmod +x /etc/init.d/mountram.sh

Et créez un lien symbolique comme ceci :

sudo ln -s /etc/init.d/mountram.sh /etc/rc2.d/S09mountram

Puis rebootez le PC !!

Vous devriez voir apparaitre une icone comme ceci sur votre bureau, vous indiquant qu’un disque virtuel est bien monté en mémoire

En voici les propriétés :

Reste plus qu’à déporter le cache de Firefox sur cet espace maintenant. Par défaut, le cache de Firefox se planque dans votre home ici (le ~ symbolise /home/xxxx/)

1jsw2aqf.default , c’est l’ID de mon profil firefox. Le votre est surement différent donc attention a bien mettre le votre.

Du coup, je supprime le répertoire Cache de Firefox…

sudo rm -r ~/.mozilla/firefox/1jsw2aqf.default/Cache

Pour mieux le récréer sous forme de lien symbolique vers mon ramdisk

ln -s /media/ramdisk/Cache ~/.mozilla/firefox/1jsw2aqf.default/Cache

Relancez Firefox et le tour est joué ! Vous pouvez aller vérifier dans votre /media/ramdisk/Cache/ que les fichiers temporaires y sont bien copiés.

Alors maintenant, vous la voyez la différence ? Bon surf !

Hi everyone ,


I just purchased a second hand ipod touch 8g first gen from januari 2008 with firmware update 2,1.

I have a jbl on stage micro that i use with mine ipod nano 3rd gen and never had a problem but now i put the ipod touch in the dock there is a low humming sound coming from the speakers that won't stop.

Does anyone know a solution or another audiodock with charging around 100 bucks for the ipod touch

Today I finally sucked it up and bought the new MBP for $1899 with my student discount. I got a wireless printer for $30 and I want to get a wireless mouse even though I love the trackpad. Any suggestions? I am thinking Logitech nano VX.

Also, are there any recommendations for MacBook settings? Like display settings or anything software wise? I also am going to need a word, powerpoint, ect suite...

idk whats up i had my brand new ipod nano 16 gig (the newest one) in the devices list with my ipod touch and they synced perfectly then the next day my comp was going slow and i connected my ipod touch and it makes a ding dong ( high) then a dong dong ( very low pitch) like ive never heard before plzz help

I have a 2 year old daughter, my wife is a stay-at-home mom and she takes about 40 pictures of my daughter a day. In March, we will be having a son and I am sure the # of pictures will only increase.

Now here is the deal. Currently my wife uses my baby (my Aluminum iMac) to take the pictures off of the camera and put them in Aperture, edit and then send off to family. Not a big deal until last night when I got home and saw gooey nasty 2 year old toddler hand prints all over my big beautiful iMac display.

So here we are. In March I had already planned to buy my wife, as a congratulations present for having our son, a Nikon G60. Because I hate to see my iMac display devastated, I want to buy her a laptop to ensure that it wont happen again. This will also allow me wife to use the computer in more convenient rooms such as the livingroom or play room.

I am already planning on buying myself a MacBook Air. I travel quite a bit and love the fact that it weighs pretty much nothing.

I am debating on whether to get her a MacBook air as well, or one of those gorgeous new MacBook's. The MacBook will be used for email, internet and picture editing. She will be using programs such as Aperture and Photoshop, so I am thinking she wont be needing a huge workhorse. My question is, for those of you that use your Mac for similar tasks.. what setup/configuration do you see work well for you? My problem is that I don't want to purchase her one with 2GB and find that she needs 4GB. With my schedule and how much I procrastinate when I get home, she has a better chance of getting hit by lightning 40 times in a row while winning the jackpot lottery than me installing the extra ram.

So please give me your thoughts and inputs. Buying a Apple product is an investment and I'd hate to get her the wrong thing.

Also, I might get her a new iPod while I am at it. I have the previous generation of the Nano and really enjoy it. What are your thoughts on the current generation nano or the Touch? I kindof feel like if I am going to spend the money on a touch, I might as well get her an iPhone.

The old iPod nano got an update to support them but the iPhone seems to be left out, maybe it's time to purchase some other headphones?

Paper Moon is a short platformer which lasts for only five minutes, featuring artwork by the developer of Nano and Gravity Hook. In it, players run through a couple of small levels in search of apples, bananas and cherries for points before time runs out.
