It's a little too late to join in on the fun of this online drum circle, but the video is really
interesting. Hopefully they will have another session in the near future. I'll keep you all
updated.
Telematic Drum Circle is an interdisciplinary art project which combines Tele-Robotics,
Computer Science, Pneumatics and Music. The project explores the rupture of deeper communication in
the technology meditated world, and addresses the issue of global harmony by sharing participants'
rhythmical spirit produced through the telematic live drum ensemble. It consists of two main
components: a set of sixteen robotic drums arranged in an installation space and an interactive
website networked with these drums. Each drum is representative of a geo-cultural region.

CALL FOR APPLICATIONSbr / br / media . architecture . computingbr / MArch + MFA Dual
Degree Programbr / Departments of Architecture and Media Studybr / University at Buffalo, State
University of New Yorkbr / br / http://cva.ap.buffalo.edu/mac/br / br / APPLICATION
DEADLINE: January 15, 2009br / br / Computing has changed the way we think, feel, and operate
in the modern world. This has profound consequences for the way we conceive, perceive and interact
within built environments. Moving beyond screen-based simulations and interactive environments,
media-architecture hybrids incorporate both the virtual and material dimensions of everyday life.
As sites of practice for media, architecture and computing converge, new avenues for research and
experimentation arise that require an expanded knowledgebase. Recognizing this challenge, the
departments of Architecture and Media Study offer a dual degree program in Media, Architecture
Computing, one of the only such programs in the country.br / br / This trans-disciplinary program
offers dual terminal degrees, the fully accredited Master of Architecture (MArch) and the Master of
Fine Arts (MFA). Working with distinguished faculty in the departments of Architecture and Media
Study, students conduct research and creative explorations in responsive architecture, robotics,
networked performance, physical computing, locative media, pervasive gaming, kinetic structures,
parametric design, and digital fabrication, among others. With a focus on providing a critical
context for experimental practice, this program provides the advanced skills necessary to engage
contemporary confluences of architecture and computational media.br / br / This program combines
the 2-year accredited M.Arch. and the M.F.A. for a total of 94 credit hours for applicants holding
an undergaduate degree in Architecture, or the 3.5-year accredited M.Arch. and the M.F.A. for a
total of 145 credit hours for students for applicants from other fields. br / br /

499MB/b/divbr/ VMware Workstation is powerful desktop virtualization software for software
developers/testers and enterprise IT professionals that runs multiple operating systems
simultaneously on a single PC. Users can run Windows, Linux, NetWare, or Solaris x86 in fully
networked, portable virtual machines - no rebooting or hard drive partitioning required. VMware
Workstation delivers excellent performance and advanced features such as memory optimization and
the ability to manage multi-tier configurations. Essential features such as virtual networking,
live snapshots, drag and drop and shared folders, and PXE support make VMware Workstation the most
powerful and indispensable tool for enterprise IT developers and system administrators.
I'm a Mac newbie with a MBP. I can see my Windows XP system in the Finder under shared, as well as
a networked hard disk I added with an smb connection. These systems are all on a linksys
router.
However, when I go to the terminal and try to access these same systems by name, using ping, ssh,
etc., the Mac cannot find them.
And my XP box cannot find my Mac using ping from a Cygwin terminal.
Any ideas what I should be trying to make this work?
(The other systems are on dynamic IPs; I'd rather not switch them to fixed IPs and hard code them
into /etc/hosts.)
The Iomega StorCenter ix2 is the latest compact network storage solution designed for consumers who
need a stand-alone storage drive that can be shared by multiple computers over an internet or
network connection. This compact file sharing solution allows friends, family, and coworkers to
access the same files even if they work on different computers. Notebook users can also benefit by
keeping important files on a networked drive at home, so a stolen laptop doesn't result in stolen
data. Let's take a closer look.
I'm in the office desperately trying to download the 2.2 software update however it appears that
iTunes is trying to download it to the directory:
H:jccswindowsApplication DataApple ComputeriTunesiPhone Software Updates
As this is a networked drive there is very limited space and I quickly receive an error message
stating the drive is full. Is there any way to change the location where updates are
downloaded?
My iTunes music library folder is located on the local D drive.
