Il semblerait que Leica soit en train de préparer pour Noël une version spéciale en titanium de son Leica D-Lux 4 qui n’est autre que le très sympathique Panasonic Lumix LX3. Alors déjà que pour avoir la petite pastille rouge, c’est 200€/$ de plus que le LX3 de Panasonic, cette version titanium devrait coûter quelque chose comme 1400$ soit 900$ de plus que le LX3 ! Tout ça pour la pastille rouge et le boîtier en titanium … Donc si vous avez des sous à perdre, vous savez quoi faire.

CEO David Hill dropped the info during the 3D Entertainment Summit, acknowledging plans to bring the 3D feed to CES (finally, we won't have to miss the big game this year -- like we'd ever watch an SD feed stretched on cheap hotel plasmas) and select movie theaters, but balked at pushing technology forward. Citing costs absorbed by broadcasters in switching to high definition, he's looking towards consumer electronics manufacturers to turn over HDTV profits and start another round of upgrades for early adopters. While they argue over who picks up the check we don't expect more than a few demos here or there, but with Panasonic, LG and others already taking the baton it's just a matter of time, maybe when ESPN takes over things full time in 2011?

Photomatix Pro 3.1.1Photomatix Pro extends the dynamic range of digital photographs or scanned films. If you have ever shot a high contrast scene, you probably know the problem: blown out highlights and loss of contrast in shadows. Photomatix offers two ways to solve this:

• Exposure blending: combining images taken at different exposures into one image with increased dynamic range
• Tone Mapping: processing a High Dynamic Range (HDR) image to compress its tonal range while preserving local contrast.

"Adobe has released an update to its Camera Raw Plug-in for Photoshop CS4. Camera Raw 5.2, which replaces v5.1, extends support to seven more cameras, including Canon EOS 5D Mark II and Panasonic DMC-G1. The update includes enhanced color profiles, output sharpening and a new Targeted Adjustment tool. In addition, users can save all image adjustments and settings as a single snapshot for future reference."

The latest release of Adobe Camera Raw adds more than just the usual new cameras. It also adds some great new features. The targeted adjustment tool is especially useful in developing your raw images as you can adjust parts of the photo differently. Kudos to Adobe for continuing to add features to their raw processor. The only downsides I see is that you have to manually remove the beta camera profiles (the only change was to remove the words Beta 2). Some devotees still think the Nikon and Canon software does a better job of raw conversion, but, each new version from Adobe reduces the gap. ACR 5.2 is available for Photoshop Elements 6 & 7, Premiere Elements 4 & 7 and Photoshop CS4.
