I have a new 15" MBP Aluminum. It's the 2.53 GHz with a 320GB 7200 HD.
I don't seem to be getting very good battery life. I just unplugged the power cord and it estimates
2:50. I only have Safari and Mail running. I am connected over WiFi and Bluetooth is turned on. The
screen brightness is at the lowest setting. I am running in Power Saver mode with the lower powered
video card. I conditioned my battery when I first got it.
Here is what iStat provides:

The other day, I unplugged the MBP and took it to work. I only turned it on when I was teaching. I
used the mini adapter to connect the MBP to the projector. After I taught, I closed the lid and
when I got home the power was down to 10%.!! So I was only able to get about 1.5 hours out of it
for the day. The screen was on full brightness when I was teaching however.
Are other getting less than 3hrs battery life? Does this sound about right? Any suggestions?

Sharp is expanding its suite of Wide-XGA (WXGA) Projectors with a new DLP BrilliantColor model that
combines vibrant color reproduction and affordability.
Now I realize you’ve been drooling over those new mini-projectors for a while now, but if
you’d rather have an extra-large experience and already own a normal projector,
you’re in luck:
Remember that “velvety” inflatable couch you had in college? Well, we’ve found
you the perfect TV to go along with it – the Open Air Cinema 16 Foot
Inflatable Movie Screen. The 16ft x 9ft, widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio, 20-pound inflatable movie
screen is the perfect compliment to any backyard (if you’re lucky enough to have a
backyard, ahem). Just don’t go filling it with helium - that’s a very, very bad idea;
this potential balloon is available at an introductory price of $999, or purchase their CineBox Home complete backyard theater system which includes projection, sound
and all necessary cables for $3,299 - you’ll instantly have the most popular backyard on
the block and you can recoup the expense by charging admission and selling refreshments…
Not even 24 hours after we found the 3M MPRO110, we discovered
Adtec’s AD-MP15A. This mini-projector also uses LED as a light source for 20,000+ hours of
usage and works with a/v equipment, laptops and cell phones. The device has 15 lumens of
brightness and a 200:1 contrast ratio. At a size of 27 x 58 x 90mm and a weight of 147g, the
pocket-sized projector features a built-in 0.3W mono speaker and runs on a Lithium-ion battery
that is good for about 40 min. The AD-MP hits Japan’s shelves sometime this month for
Â¥39,800 (~$427.00.)

The Evolution Control Committee has developed a new interface for music software using 2 Wii
remotes and a projector. Input is controlled via infrared LED thimble-gloves against a
rear-projection screen. Certainly a speedier way to trigger the massive amount of Ableton Live
loops seen in the above video. - Based off of Johnny Chung Lee's whiteboard, we assembled a
four-foot rear-projected faux touchscreen. It's perfect for our Wheel Of Mashup shows, which
depend on an overloaded setup of Ableton Live. -

With nearly
every company (seriously,
basically
all of them) rolling out a tiny
projector, it's getting pretty hard to stand out from the crowd -- and Adtec's two new MP15A
Series projectors don't look like they're going to push the envelope in any way. Specwise, they're
going to be nearly identical to the rest
of the bunch, with 15 ANSI lumens, a 200:1 contrast ratio, and VGA 640 x 480 resolution, and
they'll boast an LED lamp with about a 20,000 hour life. The two models -- the 15AW is white, 15AB
is black -- will be available in December and January, respectively, but only in Japan. No word on
a possible release in other, pico-starved areas of the globe yet.

pFancy carrying a tiny projector that fits into the palm of your hand comfortably? Well, the Adtec
AD-MP15A pico projector relies on LED technology for its light source, throwing out a bold, vivid
picture for the whole family - as long as you're not living in a castle, that is. The Adtec
AD-MP15A comes wih 15 lumens brightness and a 200:1 contrast ratio which isn't too hot by normal
projector standards, but don't forget that this is a pico projector to begin with. Other
specifications include a 0.3W mono speaker, a 20,000 hour LED life and easy connectivity to a range
of compatible equipment such as a laptop, cell phone and other AV devices. You will be able to pick
up the Adtec AD-MP15A in Japan later this month for $427./p pPermalink: a

I think we can all admit that there's something magical about the 8mm video format. Before there
was VHS, and way before there were digital video cameras, there was Super-8, pretty much the only
game in town if you were trying to get your memories recorded onto video without spending
thousands of dollars. This could explain why today when we see Super-8 footage today, it almost
automatically invokes a sense of nostalgia, as if we are peering into the timeless memories of
the pre-80's.
But really, like many people who grew up in the age of the VHS tape, my first exposure to the
Super-8 format was probably this:
Yep, the opening sequence to The Wonder Years. The reason for this sequence being done in Super-8
now seems quite obvious: It invokes the slightly faded memories of the 1960's through the
nostalgic, grainy filter of small-format video.
So what's the story behind this format?
