We are so pleased that Sanyo has produced the eneloop bike. The electric hybrid vehicle has a power-up mode assist ratio of 1:2, a 25.2V 5.7Ah loop self-charge function that works while it is being ridden, and a 2-wheel drive system. A part of their “Think GAIA” series, energy is generated by the rider to recharge the auxiliary battery while conserving from the main battery. The bicycle features a cruising range of 100km in auto-mode. The eneloop bike will be available in Japan in February in 4 different colors for Â¥136,290 (~$1,461.00)

Les gadgets à pile à combustible vont pouvoir se développer maintenant que le gouvernement américain s’est décidé à retirer un article de loi qui empêchait leur déploiement.

La technologie permettant de tenir des heures et des jours en ne faisant que remplir sa batterie n’arrivait pas à décoller car les régulateurs exigeaient des preuves de sa sécurité.

Le gouvernement a désormais retiré son véto depuis que le Department of Transportation (département des transports) a amendé ses règles sur les matières dangereuses, permettant le transport par avion du méthanol, du butane et de l’acide formique.

Avant, ils pensaient que le méthanol et le butane étaient inflammables, et l’acide formique corrosif, donc que ce n’était pas une bonne idée de les transporter avec soi en avion. Du coup, le marché devenait restreint.

Sara Bradford, consultante en énergies pour Frost & Sullivan, dit que l’un des plus gros challenges était de passer outre ce problème.

Dans les piles à combustible, une tout petite quantité de liquide alimente un processeur sans combustion, ce qui signifie que les utilisateurs changent juste de cartouche pour continuer à écouter leur musique ou lire leurs e-mails.

Sara Bradford dit que maintenant ces produits pourront arriver sur le marché d’ici 1 à 2 ans, les fabricants montrant désormais de l’intérêt à les commercialiser au-delà des prototypes.

Son chargeur de la taille d’un paquet de cigarettes utilise des cartouches de butane, le même gaz à l’état liquide que l’on trouve dans les briquets, capable d’alimenter des iPod, des BlackBerry, des GPS ou des appareils photo numériques.

Mouli Ramani, VP business development des Lilliputian, dit qu’une cuiller à thé de combustible peut fournir 20 fois plus de jus qu’une batterie classique de même taille qu’une pile à combustible.

La pile sera vendue entre 100 et 150$ et les cartouches de recharge entre 1$ et 3$.
