Here's the story.
I brought a refurbished whitebook from apple a month ago.
Within that month i've had to have the logic board replaced and the keyboard/topcase replaced.
Now the Isight light keeps coming on and stopping me from using the camera. It does this roughly
every 4-5 boots. Its not a major issue but hey its an issue.
I've been through all the trouble shooting steps with support, such as resetting PRAM and SMC and
they think that the logic board will need replacing again.
I'm not to happy with this as like i said its only a month old. I was recomended by the tech to
call aftersales and explain the problem and request a replacement machine.
I was informed by aftersales that because it was a refurbished machine i wasnt elidgable for a
replacement.
well i wasnt too happy about this so i sent an email off to Mr Jobs and one of his VIP customer
relations people phoned me today. She's trying to find a replacement for me. I'm guessing it will
be another refurb the same spec as i brought which isnt a problem.
The problem i have now is,
1. on my machine i have upgraded the HD
2. I have also upgraed the RAM
3. I have brought applecare
I know that i will be able to transfer the RAM and HD easily but what about the applecare. I
literally brought it at the weekend and its still registering.
Dont get me wrong, At the time i was made and this is what made me send off my rant to steve. But
over the weekend i just resided my self to live with it. The refurb I recieved was in really good
condition and i was pleased with the cosmetics of the machine. I'm worried that if i do get a
replacement it wont be in as good condition
EIDT: I've just recieved an email from apple with an order number for a replacement

This only happen recently, my PC will freeze/lockup with screeching noise comes out of my speaker
or headphone at random time.
Its totally random, I thought my overclock is not stable, so I run SuperPI 32M and Orthos for 1
hour, everything seems OK.
Next is I thought maybe overheating issue but the temperature of everything seems fine, plus I put
some extra fans to cool it down. Sometime it happen when I playing games, sometime even light
browsing causing that
Is this the sign of something bad is happening to my PC? I expected maybe the mobo is the problem,
because its back from RMA, and looks like its a refurbished mobo and looks old. Any thought?

vs. 1st gen black MB.
I was an original Macbook owner. I have the black, 2.0Ghz model with integrated video and 2gb ram,
80gb HD etc. from summer/2006.
My fiance needs a new computer, but just for writing and browsing. My thoughts were to give her my
macbook, which is just fine for that.
I don't have a ton of money, but I feel like I would be wasting my time with a new macbook. I am a
pretty heavy CS3 user, as a hobby, but a frequent user nonetheless. I work with a lot of .cr2 raw
files that are all over 10mbs, and my system tends to get quite toasty and sluggish. I also have
recently started using my MB for games, when I have the time, which tend to run like they're stuck
in mud.
I know the new MB's have discrete video and are a significant upgrade over what I have, but I feel
like I'd be better off with a penryn MBP, 2.5Ghz/8600 GT Nvidia, matte screen, either refurbished
from apple for 1499 or NEW from amazon, with a rebate for 1549 from the release before this one.
That was the previous top of the line 15inch MBP. I couldn't possible afford the new MBPs, and I'm
not a huge fan of glossy screens anyway.
I guess what I'm asking is how does the performance compare between those two models (new MB vs
penryn MBP) considering they're essentially the same price.

I just bought a mini and a wacom intuos3 (6" x 8" refurbished for $200 on amazon) and was wondering
whether or not the mini was capable of running the software needed and used with the tablet. I have
the entire CS3 and was also wondering if any of it wouldn't run on a mini.
I have a MBP (early '08) as my backup option for the tablet, but it would be nice to have a fixed
option for it.
