Axiotron has the upgrade bug
again, and it's making a litany of small, useful improvements to its Modbook that add up to a seriously improved machine. For
starters, the rig now has a new hardware controller board for improved sleep, battery and system
performance. Moreover, a fresh bonding process for the AnyView LCD panel and paper-emulating
ForceGlass screen cover results in a "better contrast ratio, a firmer etched drawing surface, and
decreased parallax between pen tip and cursor." Also of note, the updated beast incorporates the
company's QuadCoat process, which protects the top shell with a liquid metallic coating and
decreases the weight to 5.3-pounds. The Modbook starts at $2,249 by itself, or users can
convert their non-aluminum Core 2 Duo-based Macbook into one starting at $1,299.

uninitiated, Boxee is a software that enables access to online video from Hulu and CNN among others
via your desktop/laptop, and it now supports Netflix access as well. This means you will be able to
check out your Instant Queue and Recommendations, browse Recently Added and Most Popular, and go
through the whole Netflix Watch Instantly selection by Genre and Search from the comfort of your
living room (or lap, depending on which machine you're using). There's one drawback though, it
won't work on Apple TV due to its lack of processing power, so you can be sure that you are in
possession of a pretty souped up rig before taking full advantage of Netflix on Boxee. This latest
version will also include :- /p p ul liNew Hulu/li liNew YouTube/li liNew CNN, Flickr, Picasa and

Alright, it's been over a year since I last posted here. Been busy :(:D
My rig right now consists of:
AMD64 3200+
2 GB PC3200
Evga 6600
a 350W PSU
I have a few questions for you guys if you wouldn't mind :)
I want to get either the Powercolor or Sapphire HD 3850 AGP to replace the ancient 6600 in this
rig. That being said:
1. Will my PSU be able to run the card? Replacing the PSU isn't an option sadly.
2. Which drivers would you recommend if I actually get the card. And what about all this hotfix
stuff I read everywhere?
Now I know regardless that I am going to be seriously bottlenecked on this rig if I get the 3850.
But realisitically, what kind of performance increase would I be likely to see over my current 6600
card? I mean, I don't expect to be able to run Crysis maxed out or anything. But GTA4 on this rig
runs at literally 2 or 3 fps. I just want to know if I could actually play it at a decent frame
rate with some details not on super low :(
I've had a few friends tell me to get the 3650 instead of the 3850 due to the PSU issue, but I've
also seen many people online comment how they run the 3850 on a 350W PSU with no trouble. So, I
don't know what to do. What do you guys suggest?

hey all, im thinking of upgrading to 4gb of ram after installing Vista64 and noticing some games
stutter a little (or a lot if its CoH opposing fronts), but instead of buying a whole new system
i'm just thinking of using 4x1gb of DDR ram to hold me over till spring.
Anyone know of any serious issues w/ 4x1gb DDR sticks?(especially w/ DFI mobos) i know it'll reduce
my overclock (by only a little i hope), and that i'll hafta run 2t, but is that it or does it just
mess everything up? its $40 after rebate for an extra 2x 1gb kit so i figure why not? however, if
its gonna be more headache then its worth then i'll just wait.
thanks for any opinions.
