Following yesterday's news in USA Today, Rockstar has officially announced the first of two DLC episodes for the Xbox 360 version of Grand Theft Auto IV, titled "The Lost and Damned." The first high-res screens of the episode are out, along with a bare minimum of new details.

In addition to what yesterday's report contained – that players will control a new lead character, Johnny Klebitz, a biker with Liberty City motorcycle club The Lost – today's announcement confirms that the episode will contain "new missions that offer an entirely fresh way to explore Liberty City," along with new vehicles, weapons, multiplayer modes, and music.

The episode arrives via Xbox Live Marketplace on Feb. 17, and (obviously) requires the original GTA IV to play. We've been wondering if a Gold account will be required as well, but Rockstar's announcement merely mentions an Xbox Live account as a prerequisite for download. So ... let's hear your theories on the plot.

So we know there's going to be a video editor for the PC version of Grand Theft Auto IV, but what can you do with it, and how do you do it? Rockstar has dropped details on the versatile little app that will allow just about anyone to easy create and share game clips with the Social Club TV website. To start, all you have to do is hit F2 and the previous 30-40 seconds of gameplay are dumped into a clip. Open up the video editor from your in-game cell phone, and from there you can view the clips, use the editor to string them together, adding music, special effects, titles, and transitions, and then head to the upload section to post them directly on the Rockstar Games Social Club TV site for everyone's viewing enjoyment.

While last night's story from USA Today is all well and good, we prefer to get our news about the upcoming The Lost and Damned DLC for the Xbox 360 version of Grand Theft Auto IV directly from Rockstar itself. Why? Because the Rockstar official press release is free from any journalistic meanderings, and it comes with nice, lovely, giant-sized screenshots of the content and a nice white logo we can put on top of all of it. Completely loving the whole biker gang vibe these shots are giving off. Makes me want to hop on a hog myself, and then quickly hop off before I kill myself.
