 So you might be
wondering what a picture of Eric Bana swigging a beer in a
Hulk t-shirt has to do with the remake of a French thriller. Well, the answer I'm afraid
is nothing, its just one of my favorite pictures of the Aussie actor -- but back to the business at
hand. Variety reports that
Millennium Films is currently in talks with Bana to star in their remake of the French thriller,
Le Convoyeur (now titled,
Armored).
The original film was written and directed by Nicolas
Boukhrief, but Millennium have their eye on F. Gary Gray ( The Italian Job) to take over
the remake. The script was also given a re-working by David Ayer ( Training Day)
and Andrew Kevin Walker. The story centers on a man (presumably to be played by Bana) working for
an armored car company who manages to ingratiate himself into a heist planned by his co-workers.
But as it turns out, our protagonist has his own motives for weaseling his way into this band of
lowlifes.
Bana had originally been set to star in the flick before dropping the project to play Nero in J.J.
Abram's Star Trek
reboot. So what could have changed his mind? According to Variety, Bana "has a deal negotiated
down to what sources described as a $7.5 million paycheck." Not bad for a guy who has yet to really
break out as a leading man.
Bana's schedule would appear to be packed for the foreseeable future, including promoting
Trek and the romantic weepy, The Astronaut's Wife. Not to mention he will be
making his directing debut with the documentary, Love the Beast, later this year.
Armored is scheduled to start production on April 1st, so Millennium is going to have to
work fast if they want to convince Bana to sign on -- I personally can think of 7.5 million reasons
to sign on the dotted line.

Evil monolith Apple has begun a
nefarious program to snatch children from the warm arms of their home PCs with ominous-sounding
"field trips." These trips do lead to a field, but not one with grass and trees and sunshine. This
is a field of glass, of white plastic, of aluminum, and of shameful minimalism.
Sure, Apple has its shiny white coating of education. The (apparently free) one-hour trip can
accommodate up to 25 impressionable youngsters. "Let the children create projects using
easy-to-understand software like iMovie and iPhoto!" the site exclaims. "Or they can bring in a
project they've already created and turn our store into a theater," the site explains. "Free
t-shirts!" furthers the site. Well, Apple, let me tell you this. I will not "bring my enthusiasm,"
and I will not let you "bring the rest." Children should frolic in parks, not museum-like
electronics shops. The t-shirts do look sort of sweet, though. [ TUAW]

Welcome back to another installment of Insert Caption -- the game President Bush would love to
play ... if only he knew how to find the internet. Zing! Last week we asked you to "go long" for a
photo from the new movie The Express,
and score you did. Congrats to the three sports who managed to cross into our funny zone. (Get it
-- instead of end zone, I said funny zone? Heh ... wait, why aren't you laughing?)
 1. "Staring Contest? This is no Staring Contest....This is FOOTBALL!" -- Darren
C.
2. 'Coach: Why aren't you playing up to your obvious potential yet?
Player: Because we haven't had the requisite training montage yet!" -- Matt
B.
3. "Damn ... Did you hear about O.J.?" -- Chaz K.

I'm a little afraid of the captions we'll be receiving this week, in honor of the new Oliver Stone
flick W.
(in theaters October 17), though I'm sure our readers will show a little {cough} respect
with their captions. Based on the life and times of our current president (who'll be leaving office
in just a few months), W. stars Josh Brolin (as W.) and a whole
slew of all stars as some of our most favorite political heroes. The candidates behind our three
favorite captions will spin away with one W. poster, one W. t-shirt and one
W. shot glass. Sound off below ...

Just when you thought Megan Fox couldn’t be any more perfect, OK! Magazine
drops this bombshell of a quote from an interview with Simon Pegg that will send
every fanboy (including yours truly) from here to Timbuktu into hysterics.
“Megan’s a bit of a geek, and she was a fan of Shaun of the Dead,” Shaun actor
Simon, 38, told OK! at the Oct. 1 launch of the movie’s companion book. “We talked
about comic books,” admits Simon. (Source)
So let me get this straight. An integral part of the Transformers
mythos? Check. Likes to wear tight vintage
Star Wars and Batman
t-shirts? Check. Digs pop culture extravaganza Shaun of The Dead? Check. Can
hold a conversation regarding comicbooks? Check.
Yes, that noise you just heard was my brain exploding.

Rarely does a young artist make an entrance as confident, well-rounded and flawless as
SRP/SRC/Universal Motown singer-songwriter SHONTELLE. Her debut single “T-Shirt” has
zoomed into the top 30 of iTunes most-downloaded Top Songs chart, and within a month of release
to radio, has rammed the national Top 20 in pop-formatted airplay, spinning at over 150
mainstream Top 40 and rhythmic-crossover radio stations across America. The serene and sensual
“T-Shirt” video clip has drawn over 1.1 million audio streams on the artist’s
MySpace.com page and a similar number of video hits on YouTube.com. (PRWeb Oct 10, 2008)
