Robotic Suit For Rent Available" hspace="5"

pJapanese will soon be able to rent a robotic suit that helps people with mobility problems to move
around independently, although the $2,200 monthly rental will probably put plenty of people off.
Known as HAL (Hybrid Assistive Limb), this computerized suit features sensors that will pick up
brain signals that direct limb movement via one's skin. HAL's computer system is belted to the
waist, where it will capture brain signals and translate them to instructions for mechanical leg
braces to act accordingly. Several European nations have already expressed interest in HAL, but
there is no word about a US release just yet. Hopefully as it gets more popular, the rental cost
will come down as well./p pa

stranger to gaming peripherals, and the Lycosa and Arctosa keyboards are the latest two models to
hit the market. The former is the Razer Lycosa Mirror Special Edition which boasts the addition of
a high-gloss mirror finish, retailing for $79.99 when it is out this December. As for the Razer
Arctosa as seen above, this is a more basic version of the Lycosa, so you can expect a fair number
of features to be missing in comparison, including a backlit keyboard for in-the-dark gaming
sessions. You will be able to pick up the Razer Arctosa in either silver or black colors this
November for $49.99./p pa

new brainwave-controlled game/a developed in collaboration with Square Enix. Of course, this would
mean adding yet another gaming peripheral to your already cluttered home in the form of the
MindSet. The MindSet looks like a pair of headphones, where a single electrode connected to the
user's forehead will read the player's brainwave information (EEG data), registering the commands
and letting players perform relevant actions within the game. Would you make a beeline for this
game, or do you think it is a gimmick at this point in time, rather preferring to wait for a second
generation version to be released before making the plunge?/p pa

the advent of better graphics and audio, video games have gotten more and more immersive, and
driving simulators are extremely good examples of sending its player into a totally different zone.
Most gamers who love driving sims on their consoles will probably have a steering wheel setup ready
in the living room, but how many of these stay in place during an intense race? With the RennSport
Wheel Stand from Fanatec, it helps gamers play without worrying about pedals or steering wheels
moving out of position thanks to its lockdown feature that keeps the steering wheel in place while
your pedals remain firmly grounded onto a solid, non-slip base. You will be able to pick up the
RennSport Wheel Stand at the end of this month for $130./p pa

//centerbr / pMost Bluetooth headsets do nothing but offer hands-free communications, right?
Apparently not. SouthWing has gone the extra mile with its SH241 Bluetooth headset which is able to
tap into ATamp;T's VoiceInfo news and information service at the press of a button, allowing you to
listen to the latest in headlines, travel, sports, news, and weather information as long as you're
hooked to a ATamp;T Bluetooth-capable cell phone (iPhone users, let out a whoop of joy!). Since the
system is voice-activated, all you need to do is speak your selections and you're good to go,
although I'm not sure how accurate the speech recognition system is. At least there is no need to
press further buttons to help you concentrate better on the task at hand. You will be able to pick
up the SouthWing SH241 for $39.99./p pa

border="0" //div pLittle kids in horror movies playing the devil's advocate are chillingly creepy
to say the least, and both Red and White Queens in the Resident Evil movies are pretty good
examples. As for the Repliee R-1, she could be passed off as some demon-possessed kid, being a full
size humanoid robot that was specially designed to look like an actual five-year-old Japanese girl.
Features include never aging flexible silicone skin, hair, and a plethora of motors to help her
interact and move about in a life-like manner. The Repliee R-1 is meant to star in future horror
movies, I'm kidding - she is supposed to help seniors and the disabled by looking more accessible.

//centerbr / pGamers have yet another peripheral to look forward to - the Logitech Cordless Vantage
Microphone. This peripheral is compatible with the PS2, PS3 and Xbox 360 as well as PCs thanks to
its USB connector. Audio data is transmitted via the 2.4GHz frequency within a 30 foot radius, with
the USB base doubling up as a holder. According to Logitech, a couple of AA batteries are able to
run for over 20 hours before they're exhausted, so that means you had best get a set of
rechargeables if you plan on warbling for hours on end each day. Compatible games across all
mentioned platforms include Boogie, Encore, High School Musical, Karaoke Revolution Presents:
American Idol and Rock Band. You will be able to see the Logitech Cordless Vantage Microphone hit
retail stores in US and Europe this December for approximately $80./p pa

border="0" //div pThe French will be getting an iPhone-enabled Blu-ray release of Marvel's huge
summer hit, Iron Man this November 5th. Don't think you will see a US release though, so you might
want to head over to the import store and see if you can snag a copy for yourself. The French
release will utilize NetBlender's BD Touch technology as part of the ldquo;Remote Haxeyrdquo;
application found on the iPhone and iPhone 3G. This application will also enable users to download
trailers, have some fun with a game that's integrated into the movie itself or even turn your
iPhone into a remote control. Subtitles can be repositioned on the display and you are in full
control of how the movie unfolds thanks to the "editor" feature". Europe seems to be getting the
better stuff these days.../P pa

src="http://www.ubergizmo.com/photos/2008/10/ovetto.jpg" border="0" //centerbr / pHave you gotten
aboard the recycling bandwagon lately? Well, if you haven't done so already, perhaps the Ovetto
Recycling Egg might change your perception. The brainchild of Gianluca Soldi, the Ovetto is "an
object that meets the needs of domestic waste separation in order to educate the population to
correctly dispose of waste in order to be able to consequently recycle it. Ovetto fits easily in
modern homes and offices and is a great gift for anyone who wants to show off their "green"
engagement." Needless to say, in keeping with its green theme the Ovetto is made of recycled
polypropylene./p pa
