Welcome back to another edition of Insert Caption -- the game you won't want to burn after reading
... because, well, how could you win any prizes then? Last week we asked you to give us your best
college-esque caption for a photo from the new comedy College. In return for your
brilliance, we were shelling out a one-of-a-kind beer pong table. Sweeet! Only one winner this
week, so congrats to John R. for his inspiring take on a classic tale ...
1. "Unfortunately, try as he might, Peter just couldn't find his way back into Narnia" --
John R.
This week, we're shacking up with our old Oscar-winning pals Joel and Ethan Coen as they get ready
to unveil their latest darkly comedic crime caper, Burn After
Reading, starring folks like George Clooney, Brad Pitt, John Malkovich and
Frances McDormand. Prizes? Oh yeah, check it: One Grand Prize winner will receive one Burn
After Reading USB 2.0, one T-shirt, one Water Bottle and two Wrist Bands. Wait, there's
more! Four first prize winners will each receive one T-shirt, one Water Bottle, and two Wrist
Bands. Sound off below!
AOpen has just introduced its 2.5" SATA hard drive external enclosure known as the AME-100. It is
constructed from aluminum and connects to your computer via USB 2.0, which means a maximum
theoretical transfer speed of 480Mbps. Each purchase of the AME-100 comes with a USB 2.0 Y-cable,
a leather HDD wallet, necessary screws and a screwdriver to get you started. It requires two USB
2.0 ports to plug into, where one is used for the power while the other is meant for data. No
idea on pricing though.
Buffalo wants to lay claim to owning the first external solid state USB drive in the world - the
MicroStation. This tiny storage device will come in 32GB, 64GB and 100GB capacities, connecting
to your computer through USB 2.0 that is wrapped around its body neatly when not in use. It has a
maximum data transfer speed of 35MB/s, measuring a bag friendly 89mm x 57mm x 14mm. Guess you
won't have any worries of your data inside getting corrupted whenever you drop the MicroStation,
eh? The pricing might cause people to stay away still though, since the 32GB model will go for
£115, while the 64GB and 100GB models will retail for £230 and £344,
respectively.

(more…)
We've all seen SATA hard drive enclosures before, but Brando wants to double our joy with their
new USB 2.5" Double SATA HDD
enclosure. This model features One Touch Backup as well for folks who don't want to go
through complicated backup processes, while supporting RAID 1 with an auto-rebuild function as
well. Gotta love the colorful LED light indicators that let you know of the current hard
drive/RAID status, while an integrated buzzer alerts you of any error that arises. It will cost
you $170 to bring one of these
puppies home, albeit with you having to supply the hard drive, of course.
I'm thinking of getting a Drobo for a back-up solution and for my iTunes/iPhoto/Aperture
Library.
I convert a lot of my movies through Handbrake with the AppleTV preset. Is a Drobo connected to my
iMac via USB 2.0 have enough bandwidth to watch on my HDTV?
The setup will be...
Drobo > USB 2.0 > iMac > Wifi (G) > Router > Wired (100) > Apple TV
With that setup, will I run into any lag when watching a Movie on my HDTV? Thanks in advance.
I want to buy one of the new wired keyboards for my G4.
I know the new keyboard is USB 2.0 capable, and G4 is not (by standard config).
But... I have added a USB 2.0 card to the G4.
Will the ports on the keyboard be 2.0, and be able to handle my iPhone and camera?
I'm assuming it is, but I would like to check because the apple site says:
* Devices that draw high power from the USB connection, such as iPods, hard drives and some flash
drives, can only be used with the new keyboard when it is attached to the aluminum iMac.
Ecran13.3"
Processeur Intel Core 2 Duo 1.2GHz
4Go de RAM
Disque dur de 120Go
Trois ports USB 2.0
Sortie HDMI
Slot ExpressCard
Slot PCMCIA Type II
64Go/128Go. Les prix débutent à partir de 1599 €.
Even if your first car is a gas-guzzling SUV, you can show the world that you mean well with the
Q-Car USB 2.0 Flash Drive. The device holds 8GB memory is only 65 x 25mm and weighs 15g.
Available in blue only, it carries a price of $49.00. And if you really want to impress, a
Racing
Car Mouse is also available for plug and play with a price of $14.50 in four different
colors.
I'm eventually going to buy a new PC with a built-in eSATA port(s), but for now I would like to use
the external HDD on my existing system and not have to connect it using USB 2.0, as I know I can
get up to 3,000 MB/s with eSATA as compared to 480 MB/s with USB 2.0.
