Chip maker Marvell wants to get into the tablet business and it is showing a prototype that will offer web access and high-definition content at a price that would beat the competition by a wide margin. The device will also bring 1080p full-HD capability, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS connectivity and FM radio.

The Acer 1825PT includes Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300 1.30GHz processor with 4GB system memory and a 250GB hard disk. Whereas the 1825PTZ variant features an Intel Pentium Dual-Core SU4100 1.30GHz CPU with 3GB of RAM and a 250GB hard drive. Both the tablets come with an 11.6-inch 1366x768 capacitive multi-touch display panels. There is Wi-Fi b/g, Bluetooth, Gigabit Ethernet and HDMI port. Windows 7 Home Premium is the default OS.

The Acer Aspire 1825PTZ weighs 4.4lbs and is available for pre-order in Italy for 693 Euros. However US availability and official release date is not announced for now.

U.S. wireless carrier Sprint has featured the iPhone and criticized the exclusive wireless provider of Apple's handset, AT&T, in a new advertisement touting the ability to share its 4G network with a Wi-Fi hotspot.

Sprint’s Overdrive probably isn’t what you think of when you hear the term “iPhone 4G”, but check out the video (in the full post), and you’ll see what we mean. It seems that Verizon Wireless isn’t the only carrier out there to make AT&T the butt of its advertising jokes. According to the advert, the iPhone is a cool phone just that it’s held back by AT&T’s poor connection. With Sprint’s Overdrive, you’ll get your own personal Wi-Fi Hotspot, which should offer a faster connection speed. Even if you don’t own an iPhone, it’s still a funny ad, worth a watch.
