With Thanksgiving coming up, I thought I'd revisit Planes, Trains & Automobiles, one of the
few movies directly connected to that holiday and a delightful comedy classic in its own right. It
had been several years since I'd watched it, and I assumed that in the meantime it had been
released on some kind of special edition DVD. Last year was its 20th anniversary, in fact -- a fine
time to put out a handsome disc with lots of extras.
Or so you'd think! As it turns out, Planes, Trains & Automobiles has only legitimately
been released on DVD once, way back in 2000, with a poor video transfer and no extras whatsoever.
Not even a trailer. Not even the extra scenes that are commonly included when the film airs on
television. Deepening this wound is the fact that, as several reviewers noted at the time,
Paramount's announcement of the DVD had promised it would have deleted scenes. Why the studio
changed its mind at the last minute no one knows, but it sure disappointed people in 2000 who had
been looking forward to the DVD.
The film was released again this summer as part of VH1's "I Love the '80s" series, but it still
didn't have any extras and was essentially a rip-off in new packaging. The only bonus was the
incorporation of one additional scene, of Neal and Del eating food on the airplane, that's often
shown in the TV version. That's hardly a good enough reason to re-buy the disc, though.
Why is there no special edition of this movie? It's a perennial favorite. It is beloved. It is
oft-quoted ("Those aren't pillows!"). It frequently appears on polls of movie fans' favorite
comedies. Its very title has become shorthand for any trip punctuated by mishaps and setbacks, as
in, "Our vacation to Mexico was a disaster -- it was a total Planes, Trains &
Automobiles situation." You would buy it, right?

Beautiful Song from Hindi Movie Murder ZINDAGI IS TARHA Female Version Lyrics with English
Translation are given below... Zindagi Is Tarah Se Lagne Lagi Life Has Begun To Seem This Way
Rang Ud Jaaye Jo Deewaaron Se Like The Paint Worn Off Of Walls Ab Chhupaane Ko Apna Kuch Na Raha
Now I Have Nothing Left To Hide Of Myself Zakhm Dikhne Lagi Daraaron Se My Wounds Have Begun To
Show Through The Cracks Main Tere Jism Ki Hoon Parchhaai I Am The Reflection Of Your Body Mujhko
Kaise Rakhoge Khud Se Judaa How Will You Keep Me Apart From Yourself Bhool Karna To Meri Fitrat
Hai Making Mistakes Is In My Nature Kyoon Ki Insaan Hoon Main, Nahin Hoon Khuda - 2 Because I Am
A Human Being, I Am Not God Mujhko Hai Apni Har Khata Manzoor I Have Admitted To Every One Of My
Mistakes Bhool Ho Jaati Hai Insaanon Se Human Beings Make Mistakes Ab Chhupaane Ko Apna Kuch Na
Raha Now I Have Nothing Left To Hide Of Myself Zakhm Dikhne Lagi Daraaron Se My Wounds Have Begun
To Show Through The Cracks Jab Kabhi Shaam Ke Andheron Mein When Sometimes, In The Darkness Of
Night Raah Panchhi Jo Bhool Jaate Hain Birds Forget Their Path Voh Subaah Hote Hi Milon Chalkar
After Walking Miles, Until Dawn Apni Shaakhon Pe Laut Aate Hain - 2 They Return To Their Nests
Kuch Hamaare Bhi Saath Aisa Hua Something Like That Happened To Me Too Hum Yehi Keh Rahe Ishaaron
Se This Is What I Am Hinting At Zindagi Is Tarah Se Lagne Lagi Life Has Begun To Seem This Way
Rang Ud Jaaye Jo Deewaaron Se Like The Paint Worn Off Of Walls Ab Chhupaane Ko Apna Kuch Na Raha
Now I Have Nothing Left To Hide Of Myself Zakhm Dikhne Lagi Daraaron Se My Wounds Have Begun To
Show Through The Cracks

Julie is a teacher down the hall from me. From time
to time she and other teachers offer workshops to other teachers
after school. Over the past couple of days, she has showed ten colleagues from the science,
special education, history, administration and art how to work with PMC, Precious Metal Clay.
Julie talked a bit about the fun of working with PMC as the workshop wound
down.
PMC is a quick way to express yourself in metal. You can do everything with it, people are amazed
at how easy it is and how quickly they can make something really beautiful. It's not
intimidating. I think anyone can do it. You can teach a nine year old how to work creatively with
it.
Together they made a whole mess of neat designs with the clay. Some people used molds that Julie
made from shells, rocks, coins, buttons and lots of other cool found objects. Some made their own
designs by rolling out the PMC and removing or adding material. When the clay dries to its green
state, then gets touched up to remove any imperfections and strengthen the shape.
Once they are pretty much dried, they are then fired them in the kiln at high temperature between
1110 - 1830 degrees, depending and a hold time from 10 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the type of metals. When
they come out, they look pretty much the same as when they went in, but after they are burnished
and sanded, they come out to be a nice silver object.
There are a lot of places to get PMC, mostly from catalogs or online. Julie really speaks highly
about her interactions with Whole Lotta Whimsy.
Have you used PMC? Do you have any experiences in teaching creative techniques to people? Post
your thoughts in the comments!

HI,
new here
I think I deleted the user file that contains my password because it won't let me sign on, even to
reload OSX. The sign in screen comes up with my name on it, but won't accept my password.
Anyone know a way around this or do I have to get a new Hard drive and start over.
Background,
Macbook 13" just a bit over 14 months and out of warranty.
this started while it was still under warranty but I thought it was me moving them.
It started misplacing or fragmenting files, although they were listed where they should be(IE:
Scanner output or documents folders) without an Icon next to the name of the file. When you click
the file to open it it disappeared. Other files in the same folders with Icons next to them did
open normally.
Being new to macs I thought it was me misplacing them, since I was saving them to a jump drive
anyhow, it didn't concern me all that much at first.
The files are still on the hard drive just not where they should be.
Next issue,
I had a message the other night there was an update for Safari, so when I let it update and restart
it would not sign on to Safari. Error message: Safari quit unexpectedly, try again.
I call Tech support and after trying a few things he had me reload the OS because there was no
option to just reload Safari. It reloaded but with what would seem to be corrupted previous system
folder.since my files were still missing.
I got everything all set back up with the previous system file but my files were still missing.
Since Apple wouldn't give me a clue as to what was happening I decided to reload again, and wound
up with several versions of Previous system folders and began deleting what I thought were
corrupted ones trying to keep the oldest one.
Well it seems i must have deleted an important one since it won't let me back in.
So unless I can find a way to hack into the drive I need to replace it and start over.
Thanks for any help
McTired
