Next weekend, don’t just limit your animal interaction to eating turkey
– launch parachuting war bears and play nice with dangerous dolphins in
the single player demo for Command & Conquer Red Alert 3. Available for download this Monday,
November 24th at GameSpot.com for the PC, the demo includes the game’s cinematic opening,
three tutorials and two full campaign missions. Downloading the demo will give players a chance to
experience the unique, fun, over-the-top universe of Red Alert 3 ahead of the game’s first
major content patch, which includes the powerful WorldBuilder editor, balance fixes and a
de-authorization tool that will allow users to de-authorize previously authenticated versions of
Red Alert 3 on machines they no longer wish to use.
The single-player demo includes the entire 7-minute opening cinematic from the game, along with
three of the game’s interactive tutorials and one campaign mission from both the Soviet and
the Allied campaigns for a full-blown taste of Red Alert action:
* Krasna-45: Circus of Treachery – The second mission of the Soviet
campaign, players will immediately be introduced to battling the series’ newest faction, the
Empire of the Rising Sun, escorting the Soviet’s commando Natasha to a launch facility,
protecting her from the Imperial ambush division waiting to attack.
* Heidelberg: The Famous Liberation – Players will then switch their
attention over to the Allied cause, in the third mission in the Allied campaign, teaming up with an
in-game Co-Commander to take out the Soviet’s powerful Iron Curtain and headquarters in
Germany.
The demo gives gamers a great opportunity to try out Red Alert 3 before the game’s first
major patch is released later this year. The upcoming update will include the WorldBuilder, the
game’s map-making and mod tool and a community favorite, enhancements to AutoMatch for
multiplayer, balance fixes and an easy-to-use de-authorization tool that will allow players to
de-authorize previously authenticated machines that they no longer wish to play Red Alert 3 on,
ultimately giving them the freedom to play on an unlimited number of computers. More details on the
patch will be made available soon.
Command & Conquer Red Alert 3 is available in stores now for the PC and Xbox 360, featuring the
genre’s first co-operative campaign, an increased emphasis on naval warfare and the
series’ trademark live-action movie sequences, starring largest and most talented cast in the
history of video games including Jenny McCarthy, George Takei, Tim Curry, J.K. Simmons, Randy
Couture, Gina Carano, Autumn Reeser, Kelly Hu and Gemma Atkinson. The demo will be available for
download at noon PT on Monday, November 28th at http://www.gamespot.com/event/download/red-alert-3/. For more information, please

Following yesterday's news in USA Today, Rockstar has officially announced the first of two DLC
episodes for the Xbox 360 version of Grand Theft Auto IV, titled "The Lost and Damned." The first
high-res screens of the episode are out, along with a bare minimum of new details.
In addition to what yesterday's report contained – that players will control a new lead
character, Johnny Klebitz, a biker with Liberty City motorcycle club The Lost – today's
announcement confirms that the episode will contain "new missions that offer an entirely fresh way
to explore Liberty City," along with new vehicles, weapons, multiplayer modes, and music.
The episode arrives via Xbox Live Marketplace on Feb. 17, and (obviously) requires the original GTA
IV to play. We've been wondering if a Gold account will be required as well, but Rockstar's
announcement merely mentions an Xbox Live account as a prerequisite for download. So ... let's hear
your theories on the plot.
The path to Netflix-enhanced glory hasn't been entirely trouble free for everyone, this time it's
posters on AVForum noticing a distinct lack of audio on Xbox 360s connected to their HDTV by HDMI.
So far suggested solutions for the afflicted include plugging in the hard drive while the system is
on, or waiting several minutes before switching the monitor to HDMI, and repeating them every time
the system is started. It's not the first time we've heard of UK-centric HDMI weirdness, any of you
hearing a whole lot of nothing while gaming (that's not attributable to hard drive installs)?

being too similar to Dawn of the Dead. Just some of the similarities that MKR presented to the

environs./liliBoth works are set in motion by a helicopter that takes the lead characters to a mall

style="font-style: italic;"Dead Rising/span's use of the word "hell" references the tagline for
Dawn of the Dead's release ("When there's no more room in hell, the dead will walk the
earth.")./li/olYes, I know. Some of these "similarities" are a bit too tenuous to draw any
irrefutable evidence from, and as far as the judge is concerned, the lawsuit is now ruled to be
dismissed. It actually brings to mind Sony's recent a title="Sony slammed for 'copying' Sackboy

content/a, but moving on...brbrSpecifically, here's Judge Richard Seeborg's verdict:brbrp
style="padding-left: 40px; padding-right: 40px;"[That MKR] has not identified any similarity
between span style="font-style: italic;"Dead Rising/span and any protected element of Dawn of the
Dead. Rather, the few similarities MKR has alleged are driven by the wholly unprotectable concept
of humans battling zombies in a mall during a zombie outbreak./pbrThe key word here is "protected".
And in short: the concept or plot device of zombies in a mall is span style="font-style:

for something that isn't protected.brbrMeanwhile, Capcom may have won the case, but at a rather
sour note, the Judge also gave a stinging remark upon discussion of one of the similarities MKR
accused of Capcom (i.e. Both works are a parody of rampant consumerism). According to the
Judge:brbrp/pp style="padding-left: 40px; padding-right: 40px;"To the extent that span
style="font-style: italic;"Dead Rising/span may be deemed to posses a theme, it is confined to the

social commentary MKR draws from Dawn of the Dead, in other words, appears totally absent from the
combat focus found in span style="font-style: italic;"Dead Rising/span./pp/pbrOh. Judges are giving

So I was pondering movie download services today and thinking about what I think a lot of the
analysts miss when making comparisons of streaming devices.
Everyone points to XBox 360 and how it can play Netflix, or Vudu with its 1080 streaming service,
but I think they miss one of the biggest advantages of the Apple approach: you get to take your
media with you on your iPod!
I don't know of any other system which handles portable devices elegantly (some players like the
Zune are technically capable, but awkward in practice).
I wonder, however, how many people take advantage of the capability. I personally watch TV shows on
the train ride to work at times and we plan to take movies with us for my baby daughters to watch
on the Thanksgiving plane ride, but how many others out there utilize that capability?

On Black Friday, my parents said I could get either an Xbox 360 or a PS3.
I really don't know which to get because I really don't know which is better. I was leaning towards
a 360 because most of my friends have one so I could play them on Live. But, one things that's
pushing me back, is that I heard they break very easily. That's one thing that scares me. The
reasons I want to get a PS3, is because i've always been a PS fanboy, and I really want Resistance
2. The problem is, it's $100 more, and my parents might not let me. I also heard that online play
is crappy for the PS3.
So what do you guys think I should get? Give reasons why since I don't know much about the systems
except for what I stated above.

LV All-in-One PC/a is the followup to the beautiful (and powerful) Vaio LT that came out earlier
this year. This time around, they gave the LV an improved mounting base, slimmer bezel, integrated
TV tuner and most importantly, HDMI-in. Has the LV one-upped the LT?br script
type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8" galleryPost('sonyvaiolvreview', 3, ''); /script/p pstrongThe
Price:/strong $2800 (as tested)/p pstrongThe Verdict:/strong The LV took everything the LT did
well, and added more things to make it even better, without sacrificing much. In terms of the
exterior improvements, the overall size of the computer is cut down due to the omission of the see
through bezel in the LT. And instead of just a spring loaded foot for the computer to rest on like
before, the LV now sits on an articulating arm, which is attachted to a base. This makes adjusting
the angle of the LV easier than before. And for those who plan to use this away from the desk, the
wireless keyboard now has a built-in trackpad, which makes couch surfing all the easier./p pBut the
real new appeal here is the addition of an HDMI-in port, which allows your screen to work with the
latest home theater and gaming consoles, independently of the PC. And it pretty much works as
advertised. You plug in your HDMI product, switch the input source over from the computer, and
voilamdash;your Vaio LV is functioning as a TV. I tested a Roku Netflix Box and Xbox 360 with the
LV, and both worked without a problem. The picture looked really sharp, and there was no visible
artifacting caused by the display. It should be noted that the HDMI does not work with windows at
all, so importing HD content from HDMI products is not a possibility./p pAs a computer, the Vaio LV
performs well, with a few slight spec bumps over the LT. But it's quick, responsive, and is able to
take on a decent workload. We even tested Tivo PC on the LV, and it functioned without so much as a
hiccup on the hardware side. But there's nothing radically different about the Vista experience
this time around, so if you're still curious, check out the LT review./p pAll in all, The LV really
is an improved semi-upgrade from the Vaio LT. It's not different enough that recent LT owners
should be cursing the stars, but those deciding between the LV and the still available LT should go
with the LV. [a href="http://gizmodo.com/tag/vaio-lv"Sony Vaio LV on Giz/a]/p br style="clear:
